A lot of so-called Christmas movies actually have very little connection with the festive season; the film promotrrs and producers simply inform the scriptwriters to squeeze in a Christmas excerpt in order that the movie may possibly be broadcast for years to come on television, or its more contemporary equivalent, to generate a trickle of continuing income for the original investors.

For example, what has Trading Places to do with Christmas; it is simply a modern version of The Prince and The Pauper who exchange places; this story is hundreds of years old!
