We used to shout up the chimney on Christmas Eve to tell Santa what we wanted We forgot one year and had to scurry out of bed at the scrakes

St. Nikolaus Day - the children leave their shoes outside their bedroom door on the night of the 5th-6th of December for St. Nikolaus to fill them.

If they've been good, it's chocolates and a little treat, if they've been bold, it's a stick and a bag of coals.

Take down Christmas decorations on the 6th of January, without fail.

Bake some traditional German style cookies.

Always is a game night with the family in Christmas Eve in our house along with a few drinks and music.. nothing better and look forward to it every single year!

One me and dee have been doing the last few years is after all the gifts are put under the tree on Christmas eve and after the turkey etc is in the oven is we will play joking hazard while she has a few drinks.

Same here, we put our decorations up for the 6th December too

And I added that the Santa letter was put in the shoe and gone the next day.

We also do some traditional German Christmas baking. Even now that they are grown up, we meet up for it.
