My whole weekend had music on in the backround or on the TV

Started watching The Beatles....Get Back on Friday night....on the second episode about 3 hours into it in total

Absolutely incredible stuff to see Paul strumming on a guitar and coming up with classic songs and the chemistry between himself and John

Anyone else that actually likes The Beatles watched it all yet

What do you think

I've watched the first two episodes

Yes, the scene where Paul basically writes Get Back in front of the camera is absolutely mind-blowing stuff. It's like watching Picasso painting Guernica!

It's fascinating seeing John totally spaced out of it one day and then coming in the next day sharp as a tack, firing off ideas left, right and centre. That's heroin for ya

"On my todo list. Is it on Netflix??"

Disney Plus

If you don't have that...I'm sure you could acquire it "on the high seas"

I loved the scene where Michael Lindsay Hogg is waffling on to Ringo about some mad idea of a boat to Libya, when Ringo points to Paul doodling on a piano and says something to the effect of: "I'd happily watch an hour of just him messing about on a piano, he's great"

Have to say, that warmed the cockles of my heart

I'm knee deep in it at the minute. I maybe only 42. But Jesus I love the Beatles. Super to see the raw footage, little to no bullshit to the camera and great to see how they worked to develop a song.

"That's Paul's grandad. He's very clean!". Hahaha

We watched it each day as it was released.

Loved it immensely but we'd be big Beatles fans. It's a marathon watch and you would have to be a fan to watch it through.

So many great pieces but one of the best for us was seeing the Apple studio roof gig when the cops came out.

George unplugging his amp but no way was Paul gonna do such thing. He just kept focused on getting the track finished.

Ringo Star just seems the coolest guy ever. Just never gets into a flap... unreal

And John telling George that if he doesn't have the words that he needs for a song to improvise with Pomegranate or any other word until he finds the right words... brilliant.

Could really get a sense from the footage that they seen JL as a genius.

It's a long way from the XFactor rubbish that we've had to endure for years.

Kinda cool to see them all play each others instruments knowing they could never read or write sheet music.

Could go on but I'll be typing all night

Absolutely loved it - so lovely to see their interactions and to hear songs emerging. Amazing fly on wall stuff.

Felt a great sadness when they finished and it came up on the screen...."The Beatles never played in public again" ...4 young men in their prime and it fell apart.....what a band

So I finally finished this yesterday, watching it in hour-long chunks each night.

My main takeaway is that John and Paul were deeply in love with each other...if not romantically, then certainly musically! When in the studio rehearsing they spend most of the time staring into each other's eyes...trying to impress the other or make them laugh. Poor old George never gets a look in...no wonder he was frustrated and wanted out

There's a phenomenon online called "McLennon" which posits that Paul and John were lovers. And although I don't think they were ever physical with each other, this doc has convinced me that they were in love.

The subsequent break-up (of the band of course, but centred around J and P) has all the hallmarks of an acrimonious divorce. In fact, they used the word 'divorce' constantly when talking about it.

I don't think Lennon simply got bored of Paul, his feelings afterwards were deep hurt and resentment...and as we know, the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. Until his death he was never indifferent to Paul. How Do You Sleep was a lashing out at a former lover, not a friend you drifted away from

Remember the scene where McCartney observes that their respective songs are like answers to the other? "Don't Let Me Down" by John and then Paul's "Oh Darling, I'll never let you down"

Then John says "It's almost like we're lovers"

What a pair of fascinating characters they were
