I've read a lot of posts over time by people complaining about how hard it us to get a response to a message on here and it got me thinking.

I'm sure that for many people this is not the first site you signed up to. There were probably several "gateway" sites before this. It was my experience that those sites were no easier to make contacts on than this one. I've had limited success here as regards making friends and met even fewer but I still think that the sense of community, the forums and the chat make this place pretty decent. There are some aspects which I don't like but cannot go into but on the whole, I would rate this above others considering it's free.

Thoughts?

I've never been on any other sites so I can't really say if the bitching, back stabbing, ass kissing and levels of naivety are of a higher quality here or not.

Ah they are. Far more thought goes into them. So much so that it's almost a compliment to be insulted on here

As you said it's free.

There are actual people on here who have actual conversations and sometimes actual sex.

It's easy to leave or take a break and come back.

It's also full of wonderfully entertain nutjobs

I have only tried one other and wasn't there all that long because i prefer the structure of this site. I have it mentioned in mine that if i don't answer am not interested. Op have you been to any social events?

I posted this more just to compare this site to others as regards the replies, etc. I don't think it's any worse than any other one. Better if anything because you have these forums in which to get known.

You've all made good points but I hope this doesn't turn into another one of those debates on getting responses. I think it's been done to death.

Tbh putting that in a message just looks like a way of trying to show how much you "get the site and the women" and an angle to ger a reply.

It doesn't need to be stated in a message.

Simple approach from me.

I write to couples and females. Some reply some don't. Some even reply and tell me they like my profile but give me genuine reasons why they wouldn't meet me.

Then I sometimes get messages form TVs and Males. And I never reply to them unless the Male is asking me a fitness related question.

Nobody should expect a reply. The amount of messages that people recieve id say its easy for some to go unnoticed.

The best approach is not to send emails. Let them mail you or go to socials or the verification coffee meets that are posted on the forum. Spending 10 mins in someone's company is better than weeks of mailing back and forth. We'll for me anyway because I'm shite at writing/ conveying my personality in mails

You're not alone in that respect. Unfortunately you have to be a combination Eddie Murphy and Stephen Hawking to impress some people with words. If someone judges you based on how impressively you write, are they really worth your time in the first time. Sapiophile is a term I feel gets abused on here. Especially by people who spell it wrong! ??

Havent been on other sites...

The community and forums are what keeps me here.

The info sharing, thought provoking, banter generating and sometime craic-making threads are a great focal point in my opinion.

It's the first site I've been on.

Here over a year now a couple of weeks ago was the first time I even noticed the forums icon on the homepage. Never once occured to me that people were here chatting about all different types of topics wether it be sex , politics, music, or whatever.

If I was to recommend this place to a friend I'd tell them to go on the forums first , it's a great way to get a sense of what it's like here, and pick up a few tips on what to do and not to do. Plus it's a good laugh sometimes.

If I'd if come here first I'd of saved myself alot of time sending messages to people who weren't interested.
