HELLLLLLL YEESSSSSS!!!

We stuff our faces.

I do miss the Billie Barry kids as the ones these days are too likeable.

Ripping the shite out of them used to be the best tradition

I saw 10 mins of it once when Gay Byrne was presenting it. Haven't watched the late late since 30th January 1987. It was the last thing I did with my dad exactly 12 hrs before he died so it's never had any appeal.

but letting the kids stay up late one night for it is all part of the fun for them. Even tho I always fell asleep half way through back in my days . Still loved it . Looking at all the toys I'm never gonna get lol ha ha

I'll record and watch it tomorrow with the toddler. She's not well at the moment so know she wouldn't be able to stay up for it.

Late Late Cringe Fest.

I wouldn't trust a child with Tubridy. He is so passive aggressive with them. Bottling it all up. Looks like he'll lash out at them at any minute.

That stick insect Ryan Tubridy chasing Billy Barry kids around a studio in a toy car worth more than some people's monthly wage. For that reason I'm out.

Ain't seen it in years but kids big enough to stay up to watch it well 1 lasted til 10.10 other til 10.40,tired and lost interest. I think some of Ryan's comments are awful, rude and cutting...

Just watched it in person with my folks and kids still here thankfully mine are 23&19 and thoughtful enough to make time for grandparents. We all did zoom call with everyone else to connect as it has been months don't mean to be morbid but it not easy

Was this thread renamed the Vent Your Anger thread when nobody was watching?

Jeez folks, there's more valid causes for your anger

Watched 2nd half of it.

Ed Sheeran and Kelly Harrington turned up and they raised €3m+ for kids charities.

I agree, it's shite for us but it's for kids and mine liked it but complaints about lack of music and dance. Personally I'm annoyed by the lack of toy demos. Hey ho.

Try venting your anger elsewhere folks

(Soooo biting my tongue to avoid forum ban to say what I really want to to some of previous posters!)

I think for a lot of people it's like marmite. I'm not a fan tbh but I'll watch it with the kids. It's a toy show at the end of the day so doesn't really matter what adults think of it. More that the kids enjoy it.

Wasn't the best year.

But jazus lads it's a nostalgic cringe fest of fun.

I'm not sure why people so get so enraged by it watch it. And if you don't watch it why it would enrage you so much.

Its a TV show thats on for 3 hours once a year

It was a lot of fun. The harpist was fantastic, lego kid was lovely and the besties were great fun. And Kellie H was great guests. But what in the name of god happened to be books slot....it turned in a hybrid novelty/rose of Tralee experience. I don't think a book was reviewed between the three of them.

The actual reviews by kids was really lacking.

You'd miss the unintentional withering reviews of toys by them

Money for charity is great. Some kids I know are now petrified they are they are going to contract a serious illness. Kids who never even thought about it until they viewed tge images last night. That's not right!

Really? Jazus they are some seriously vulnerable kids, their parents should have known better than exposing them to such graphic images of children who aren't exactly like them

Sick and disabled children play a huge part in the Toy Show every year. It’s a good opportunity to speak to kids about how some kids are different to them.

Do you think they should just be locked away?

I can’t believe what I’ve just read. Are you actually serious? For a grown ass person to make a statement like that is absolutely horrific. It stinks of privilege, entitlement, complete lack of regard for anyone else and absolute hypocrisy.

If someone that can make statements like that are those kids role models in life it’s no wonder that they had reactions like that but that certainly doesn’t make it right.

Those kids are very unlucky to never have come into contact those amazing children with disabilities and/or serious illnesses and the light, hope and love that they bring to lives of everyone around them.

I never once said anything about these great kids. It's a great opportunity to raise money from grown ups. Two parents I met today said their children were upset because they feared getting sick to the point of no return. I think that is understandable. But please do not turn this against me. I am not here to take abuse.
