If John Jameson had of intended his liquid gold to be consumed with lime and ginger ale he would have put it into the bottle with it…..

Jameson, neat….

Would be partial to Irishman or writers tears. Range is so wide... much more than jameson/bushmills. Also neat... maybe one or 2 drops of water for the high cask strength whiskies.

Of those two definitely Bushmills. Black Bush ideally (no pin intended )

Ooooh that’s a tricky one because I love Irish whiskey over scotch and bushmills and Jameson are firm favourites. I would say Bushmills for sipping and savouring and Jameson for knocking back.

I'd add a drop of water to the smokier/peatier Scotches like Laphroaig but the rest I'd just take neat.

There’s no right or wrong way to drink whiskey, like everything, it’s down to personal taste.

Personally I drink my whiskey neat at room temperature, with ginger ale if I wanted to make it a long drink or a little drop of water to open it up a little occasionally, or a hot whiskey with a slice of lemon is nice on these cold nights.

If it’s blended then there’s no problem adding a mixer of you choice but if it’s a single malt/grain or aged then it’s probably meant to be enjoyed neat, perhaps with ice but preferably in a prechilled glass which will make it cold but won’t dilute it.

The single most important think to remember when drinking whiskey is to enjoy it, regardless of what you do or add to it to make it so, but the temperature, or adding a little water will change whiskey dramatically.

To many whiskey snobs will tell you this or that like it’s the law, it’s down to personal choice and taste, just try it a few different way and see what you like yourself.

I’m the same, not a big fan of Smokey/peatey whiskey or scotch but with a small drop of water is good.

Bushmills did a honey whiskey for a while, although technically a liqueur and not a whiskey but it was nice, they’re doing a nice Caribbean rum cask finish at the moment, a lovely drop…..

Jameson 12 neat of course, Slane whiskey is quite nice and Tullamore Dew is a great day to day whiskey. Some of the DLD stuff is savage, did a tasting a while back and it’s really strong.

I’m a pretty straight guy but I’ve been known to do some fairly interesting things when whiskey is involved, and what I wouldn’t do for a few bottles of that stuff……

Bushmills steamship is a good bottle, you can't really beat midelton rare but clontarf in lidl or aldi is as good as your standard Jameson, Paddy, Powers, Tullamore.

.

Whiskey really is a drink that when you gl beyond the €100 the more expensive ones tend to taste better, but each to his own, love me some whiskey

Depends on my mood I enjoy both... although lately I tend to lean towards Bushmills mostly.
