I've gotten 10 winks in the last 11 days.

10 have come from TVs. Whilst I appreciate the attention.

Do any couples or females use winks?

No I don't, tbh I only found out about winks last week and had too many to look at. If you're interested in someone a message is a better way to communicate

I once winked at a female Garda on her way in to collect a Chinese. The following day she pulled me out of the car and arrested me for an apparent crime the previous night. Needless to say no crime was committed.

She didnt ruin her chances but I'm guessing i haven't a chance

I send first messages all the time. My last few meets with single guys I was the one who sent first messages. I prefer the direct approach

When I am "active" I do look at winks. Only if the profile is of interest would I respond though.

Winks are quick to send, and hopefully to catch someones eye.

How often have you spent 5 mins composing the 1st message only to find that they are gone 2 minutes and you missed your chance.

I have often used winks as am ice breaker. When your watching some one's profile for awhile throw them a nice little wink and see if they wink back and then I'd probably message them.

I use it this way. Woman get that much mail on here there’s nothing worse than building up the courage to send someone a message and then they never read it.

The wink situation is proportionate. There are about 1.5 million guys for every couple and single female combined on this site. With this in mind you should expect at least 1.5 million winks from men and TVs before you get one from the minority.
