Go with your gut

Trust is easily given and easily lost

Keep your friends close your enemies closer

Cherish the people who know when your quiet, know when you are struggling and reach out ( sometimes the last people you expect too)

A job is just that

Life is too short for toxic people for liars and nasty people

Trust no-one sounds like a very lonely and cynical way to live your life. It means that if no one is worthy of trust then everyone you meet is being judged as a liar which I know to simply not be the case.

Perhaps it’s more that everyone is capable of hurting you intentionally or unintentionally . Or depend on you for your own happiness ,don’t trust others to provide it. I don’t see it as ‘go round being paranoid all the time’ despite the misanthropic connotations

Yes totally agree . I once got a really lovely Email when leaving a job, and sent a generic response as I was busy. We saw each other and I got a cold shoulder a while later . For years I thought she was being unreasonable . Then I asked her what was going on. She said she put hours into the email as she wanted to demonstrate that I was a good colleague . And yet I made her feel like shit. A lot to reflect on

Begin with the presumption that most people nowadays are selfish, self-interested acquisitive, shallow, vain, narcissistic and insincere little s####, who will use, abuse, disappoint and exploit you.

From that low point, if you find there is verifiable evidence to the contrary, count your blessings, and build from there.

Otherwise, prepare yourself to be discarded after having been love-bombed and incrementally devalued.

Don't allow anyone-no matter who they are-to treat you badly. (Allow a few mistakes but continued bad behaviour-NO) Only say yes to somebody/to doing something if you really mean yes! Learn to say no and don't feel bad about it. Learn to listen to others rather than having to constantly interrupt and chat away about your stuff. Sex with strangers can be fun in the moment but often you feel empty afterwards!

"Trust no-one..."

No, trust a few with a bit, fewer with more, no-one with everything……

Trust people with what you can trust them with or what you can afford to loose….

Do you always check your change in every shop before you leave the counter?

No, probably not, because you trust the cashier to have given you your correct change…….

You see, even if you don’t realise it, you trust people every day to one extent or another, even perfect strangers……

That dark days/bad spells do pass, and that your another day closer to a brighter day.

Also not to get concerned about other people's thoughts, opinions etc. Forge your own path.

If you feel ill and your doc says everything is " normal " and dismisses your fears get a copy of every blood test ( which is your right ) and become an expert on what each reading means and what is optimal as " normal " is not necessarily healthy . Could be a life saver .

"The capacity of people to justify their actions is both scary and impressive"

when two actions or ideas are not psychologically consistent with each other, people do all in their power to change them until they become consistent. The discomfort is triggered by the person's belief clashing with new information perceived, wherein the individual tries to find a way to resolve the contradiction to reduce his or her discomfort

The greatest satisfaction in life comes from working for the benefit of others who genuinely needs one's assistance; the biggest disappointment is being hoodwinked into giving to others who are takers!

Be genuinely grateful for what you have; there will always be others who are much better off, and much worse off, than yourself.

Never compare yourself to others; it is the main route to misery and discontentment.

A good brisk walk, or a run, clears your mind!

That we are only here for such a brief time in the grand scheme of things. It's a trillion to one shot any if us are here. And we get 70 or 80 years if we are lucky to try and experience all there is. Just for the hell of it. Why not enjoy it?

Once you stop caring or being involved in drama from others in your life such as family, things become much better.

As long as someone doesn't physically harm you or steal from you then their actions or words are irrelevant and they should be ignored.

The best quote I have ever read that illustrates how on should prioritise aspects of everyone's short life is the following:

"What is urgent is rarely important, and what is important is rarely urgent."

There will be hundreds of seemingly urgent issues to deal with daily, but selectively focus with foresight and determination on what really matters: trustworthy friends.
