The big difference though was that most forum users actually stated their opinions on things rather than saying what they thought would get them the legover. There was also a lot less less of the "Let's all tell each other how great we all are" threads. "Honest opinions are always better than an all things to all men approach. It's when people are able to requote something you posted on an entirely different thread months ago that give you a good idea of who is taking screenshots and gathering info. I'll post on a thread full of genuine opinions before a subtle trolling one. | |||

I've even seen recently where a couple were given abuse because the op thought it was the male posting when he realised it was the woman he changed his tune completely. I prefer people who speak their minds on here I may not agree with what they say all the time but it's better than the sucking up that happens all the time especially to women. | |||

There was just alot less sugar coating by the people giving opinions... I prefer it these days there was some caustic mofos way back when "I hear you with the caustic. Less sugar coating certainly but lads who just did the buttering up thing got called out. You could actually have a debate on serious topics here as well. One of the most memorable ones was a debate about religious education and clerical abuse. I think most people on the thread ended up with a timeout. I just prefer honesty though. There's very little of that around these days. There's also very few actual opinions expressed as well. | |||
