Following today's announcements, pubs have to keep maintaining table service and no drinking at the bar.

Come 1230am they can then invoke a late license and declare themselves a night club so people can dance and mingle. Father Ted stuff

Wait for the "5th wave" where the people with 4 vaccines are blaming those with only 3 vaccines for the case numbers.

I was all for the vaccine at the start but its just getting ridiculous now.

Well apparently if you are a close contact with a confirmed case then you don’t need to isolate until you are tested. Surely from what they have us to believe about Covid being sooooo contagious and dangerous that you should have to isolate until you get a negative test.

But it is now ok to be in contact with a positive case and carry on about your business until you test positive.

Seems logical.

I’m gone beyond listening to the morons in charge or even caring for that matter. The health service is a shambles and always has been. It was a mess and overwhelmed long before Covid appeared.

The hospitals were jam packed long before Covid.

There were people dieing on trolleys in hallways in Irish hospitals long before Covid.

There was a recruitment moratorium resulting in staff shortages long before Covid. In the not too distant past women were dieing because of botched breast and cervical cancer screening long before Covid.

They are using Covid to excuse their utter incompetence they have had almost 2 years and a blank cheque to make some difference and improvements but have gone backwards.

We all know what will happen in February. Oh no the figures are looking bad just another 6 weeks . Paddy’s day cancelled again.

Then oh look we are great. The figures are going down, we did a great job.

No, no you didn’t, summer reduced the figures, the same as it has done every year for thousands of years. That’s why it’s called flu season.

The clue is in the name.

People who haven't been vaccainted should just be left to manage covid themselves without being allowed into hospital tbh. That would sort out the problem far quicker.

We’ve always had a very cautious approach IMO probably linked to the recurrent trolley crises and ICU bed numbers. However the likes of Latvia are shutting schools and restaurants again and Oz and New Zealand have a zero covid approach so at least we are slowly moving in the right direction and have been since June

The 90% vaccination coverage statistic is a load of bull, its based on older census figures. There is a large cohort not accounted for in census figures, although bare in mind alot of people not accounted for maybe have been vaccinated anyway.

I'd question the quality of people interpreting the actual data, analysis at a high level is something relatively new to our civil service. I don't doubt the quality of these guys as doctors etc.. but our medical administration is absolutely shocking, and has been historically. When you throw in the political aspect of it aswell, there is a need to put your best foot forward and balance the good that your doing but temper expectations in terms of numbers possibly rising again, so we never get the honest picture.

For me, something isn't right with the actual data. We are championed as one of the european countries with the highest vaccine uptake but our numbers are still some of the highest, there have been various excuses given for this and its always something different.

Media are being led by the hand aswell by NPHET and the government on this, so the unprecedented nature of it all mean we don't get any real proper investigation of this data or indeed proper discourse.

Vaccine doesn’t stop you getting it

Stops severe illness

Doesn’t stop transmission

Reduces it

Plus new strains

So we shouldn’t be surprised cases go up as we open up. Without vaccines we wouldn’t have got this far (travel , gatherings etc )

All predicated on a system the EU calls highly unethical and immoral.

You can enter the venue if you test positive for covid but not if unvaxxed.

Being double vaxxed has been linked to a collapse of immune system. They have already proven this in Germany and USA. It's causing a collapse of cd8 cells. This has seen an uptick of STDs, and cancers in the USA. Cancers caused by HPV etc are of high concern. This collapse of CD8 cells has already been linked to infertility in women too. Also an uptick of bacteria and virus infections that normally don't happen in Ireland like the African/South American bacteria that leaves you with foul smelling genitals. Normally needs a hot climate.. or a compromised immune system.

And if you go for tests for any of these things or treatment you are going into the HSE a system that has let women down over and over again. A system where if you catch cancer and they miss it, the head of their system will do everything in his power to ensure its never investigated.

All while they tell us that 65 percent of people who test positive are unvaxxed loons. While telling us also that there are only about 40,000 unvaxxed in the over 30 age range. So with this maths they will all have caught covid in 2 months max. How it's spreading through them when they are not allowed in venues should be a concern to everyone. They must have set up their own underground secret venues and are all congregating together at night.

Basically it's a shit show. If you're double vaxxed at least wait to find out about the immune collapse before returning to normal, specially if you're female as you won't be helped. Waiting a month or so extra to just find out what the risks are and how you can test for this side affect should be worth it.

Of course there experts. No one can predict the impact of a variant. There has been other variants that haven't been like delta.

They are hardly going to sit there and say "well since there COULD be potential variants that will completely alter our approach we should just do nothing instead."

Look on www.Canada.ca and go to the English section unless of course you speak french. In the search box look for “tear gas” and scroll down.

This is Canada’s government website supposedly ??

And it shows they invited tenders in 2016 for tear gas to quell COVID-19 protests?

All seems a bit suspect which ever angle you look at it.

"So my foul smelling genitals are down to being double vaxxed and not some horrible undiagnosed venereal disease?"

Probably just bad hygiene. However you should go to the doctor and get it checked. It could be donovanosis and should be treated promptly. If you are double vaxxed and unlucky enough for your immune to drop then it can get serious and there is an outbreak in London at the moment.

Unless you just said that because you think the condition and sexual health are a funny joke to you. In which case carry on your mundane comments.

"So my foul smelling genitals are down to being double vaxxed and not some horrible undiagnosed venereal disease?

Probably just bad hygiene. However you should go to the doctor and get it checked. It could be donovanosis and should be treated promptly. If you are double vaxxed and unlucky enough for your immune to drop then it can get serious and there is an outbreak in London at the moment.

Unless you just said that because you think the condition and sexual health are a funny joke to you. In which case carry on your mundane comments.

I’ll risk smelly balls over dying of Covid.

"if that is the case well then the experts aren't really experts after all. Any so called expert would know of the potential for variants. "

Exactly, research was being done on SARS/covid variants way before covid 19. It's why their is conspiracy theories about Wuhan as they applied for funding to do covid variant experiments on wild animals in the area.

At the very least the experts should be honest. According to HSE own figures, 80 percent of people who died between 12th sept to 9th Oct were fully vaccinated. A further 3 percent had one vaccine. And 17% were unvaccinated.

That they messed up with quick antigen testing and could have saved lives. That our living conditions of sharing apartments and houses due to govt policy is crippling us compared to other countries.
