Fake pics

Just wondering why do people feel the need to use pics from the internet, now I know its been asked and answered before but what do they hope to gain from it. Most phones have pretty decent cameras and plenty of apps that can crop, watermark change lighting etc to improve a pic why feel the need to use one from the internet.

Some think they have a better chance of starting conversations with certain photo types.

Well I've often felt shit about myself, I struggle with body confidence at times and I've never posted a fake pic and I'm pretty clear that I'm not a small lady.

So you keep pointing my flaws out thanks as you said I know fine well about my mindset and have had my own struggles and I understand that people have issues, I asked a question as a guy had asked to meet for coffee but has a fake pic, again is verified and when I asked for an actual pic no reply.

As I've already said I can understand why people might need yo post a fake pic as they feel insecure or they are here to waste peoples time but I was asked for a coffee today and would have gone as I have an hour to spare but would have been a pretty disappointing coffee to turn up and find a totally different person waiting for me.

And the reason I felt you have personally pick me out cause its not the first thread over the last day or two where you have questioned my stance on things here. Funny it's quite similar reaction I used to get from another Cork profile

No I get both points and I'm not advocating meeting people out of pity or even ignoring the issue.

But even if I don't agree with it or condone it I can understand what might drive some people to it.

The question was why people do it and that is one of the variouw reasons I suggested.

Metta man IIRC said we need to understand where the troll comes from .

I said our first priority has to be towards the victim of the trolling.

The fake pics perpetrator is creating a situation where other site members can’t trust them . It’s very hard to ascertain in most situations whether This is purely a bad thing to do or comes out of vulnerability .

Actually in the most recent example the OP has recently stated that he feels like a monster and has expressed insecurity about body parts so perhaps a clear example of the latter .

But being on the receiving end of a proposal by a fake pic person is still shitty

Well I would have gone for coffee as had an hour free this evening but when I asked for a real pic all of a sudden he goes quiet. I was willing to give up an hour of my time while still having an hour drive home after work.

A couple at the weekend that lives near me sent me a pic of my best mate and his gf and said it was them and i couldnt believe it. I said it to them and they just blocked me and hid their profile and they are gold members. Some balls they have,maybe i should have reported them x

I can’t answer the question you pose as I don’t understand why anybody would fake pictures. If I was to have a guess I would say it has to do with either, confidence, deceit, their social norm, or a mixture of all.

They could have said they knew me and didnt want to meet,i have no problem with that whatsoever but my mate and gf's pic was used when they are not on fab. Who else did they show that pic too!

You were still going to meet him even though you knew he had a fake pic... I'd have nothing to do with anyone who has a fake pic. It's deceit. It's very easy to take discreet photos. & No reason whatsoever to use another's photos.

I asked him for a real pic and than that was it, that confirmed it was a fake pic. And I agree it's very easy to take discreet pics

Can't understand the amount of people on here who are just here to mess people about not here to genuinely meet like minded people, but have to just let it go and say their issue not mine at the end of the day . I'm on the larger size and have never sent a photo that wasn't me but it takes a lot to get comfortable within yourself so first and foremost love yourself even if it's self love

There are fake pics, and filtered pics and just some really old pics.

I have rocked up many times both in here and on dating sites to be met by someone that looks nothing like their pics or barely like their pics.

I don't understand it and probably never will but until I have seen them in the flesh with my own eyes I believe virtually nothing in here.

I'm always happy to send a live pic to people I'm interested in meeting..I've also habe had the fake pics and also have my pics used on fake accounts..one one instance I was accused of stealing some one else's pic I had to go through a whole rig me roll just to prove I was the real account..

Don't look through too many male profiles to be honest, but no doubt the site is littered with fake pics.

I've encountered some female profiles with fake pics aswell and the mood quickly turns from pleasant to sour when you even hint at it.

Obviously pound for pound there are more guys doing this, but I've encountered it more than once with women i've spoken with. And as its a numbers game, they can swiftly move on to the countless other guys when they are awkwardly brought up on it.

And before I get slaughtered, its not every woman on here i'm talking about!

I don't know why people do it or take other people's pics either. It just seems ridiculous to me and I've had a few message me over the years and when I asked why they usually come up with the oh I don't want anyone to know I'm on here outside of fab.

Ye that doesn't cut any ice with me I doubt anyone outside of here would recognise me from my pics I don't usually parade around in public in lingerie.

There is one particular dick pic taken off the internet that I've seen on more than one profile on here.

If I find a fake pic now on a profile I just stop all communication.I don't care why they have it up if they can't be themselves then I can't be bothered wasting my time either with them .
