I'm comfortable talking to anyone male,female,straight,gay whatever

However last week when I organised a social someone called it a cock fight over a hen before the actual event and in the end we had 50/50 female to male fabbers anyway but I was still feckin annoyed over what it was called

There's 2 threads looking for ladies to have lunch at present but as a man would you feel comfortable meeting other men for lunch or evening grub in a pub

Would others call it a cock fest....would you give a fuck if they did

Are men too competitive on here to try .....I've never seen a social for a men only but I'd love to organise one or go to one if someone else organised one

I regularly meet men in pubs for lunch.

I call these people friends.

Tbh I am on fab for chats mainly. Any meets however would only be with women. I've enough friends in my life I don't need the additional social outlet. Nothing wrong with it just giving my insight as to why it wouldn't interest me and perhaps others.

There was a lovely guy here a few years back called Jaythekidd and he organised a guys only social in dublin. It was an epic fail, majority, if any even, just didn't bother turning up. Best of luck though if you organise one!

I wouldn't have a problem attending but don't really have the time to organise or travel at the minute. One of my best friends is a man I first met through a fab gathering.

I would think though it would be something involving guys who are already friends on here as many would feel it wouldn't help them much in their fab journey especially if they are only looking to meet women.

Yes it does and even from the messages received over last weeks social it was the same. I think its a great idea and even if only to get to know a few guys that if there's a social or mng on they know someone going.

Its not a generalisation, I organised the social last week with Bogm and I seen the messages regarding it been a cock fest, and the amount of single guys who complain they can't get meets and look to go to socials or mngs and than don't turn up.

Not trying to be sarcastic here but if I was looking to expand my social circle I'd be on meetup.cok or I'd join a something that more aligned to my personality and where I feel I would have a higher percentage chance of finding people who share interests that I find important.

At the end of the day I'm here for sex. Which is an interest I share with a large percentage of the human population. It's also not a common interest I'd ever use as a foundation for forming friendship on.

If there are guys who want to do the social thing together then more power to them and I hope it's a great success. If it isn't a success then it might be worth trying other avenues for social outlets too.

From missus perspective:

Why not do a lads lunch with women joing you for drinks after - opposite of ladies lunches that we've been doing in Belfast.

This kind of balance might work better.

Us ladies usually meet at lunch time in a private venue, have a nice, quiet lunch with lots of chats and banter between ourselves and then in the evening our partners/ fab friends join in for a drink and a boogie

Agree 100% but unfortunately some guys see other guys as competition and nothing else. I find that very sad. I suppose some women think like that too but most here are very sociable and support each other. Mrs

Thanks for the replies guys. As you can see by my profile I'm not around long enough to even qualify as a newbie. I'm guessing that socialising with like minded people can only enhance this experience. Even if other members here aren't sexually attracted to another, or different sexual preference, they could still have a laugh, be social, and teach / learn. Am I being naive when saying every conversation doesn't have to "be about the ride"

Not a single one turned up.. but in fairness it was for all the unverified time wasters to get verified.

I would imagine a lads only social with verified members would be a massive success.

At the end of the day, be a good way of getting better verified and vetted to attend actual events.

Just a thought on this

I attended a social in Belfast on Saturday that was very well organised

However there was a few hours to kill before we met for dinner in the hotel

A few of us met in the bar before that as we arrived on the afternoon of the social rather than sit in the room

Maybe the next social (November) when a lot of people are staying 2 nights or could travel earlier in the day if something was planned.It might be possible for the men to meet in the bar and have a pint watching a match
