The marvel movies was great inspiration as most had to be jacked in a short space of time. I settled on Chris Pratt's workout and diet for his role in Guardians of the Galaxy. Prep time 6 months.. Started in June lost 20kgs and Getting ripped by the day. Mind you, you do have to be committed its 2hrs 4 days a week.." 20kg?? Impressive stuff. Nice work

"For all the gym goers, Just wondering what's the best push / pull work out (no pun intended), what basics will work for a newbie lifting weights aiming to burn fat/tone up" Depends what ye want to do with yourself and whether you want to accentuate any particular part of your body. Squats are good exercise but if you don’t like a big arse then maybe they’re not the right thing. Join a circuits class at the gym and you’ll be flying in no time

"For all the gym goers, Just wondering what's the best push / pull work out (no pun intended), what basics will work for a newbie lifting weights aiming to burn fat/tone up" Keep it very simple, and I'm going to be a little cheeky and suggest a push/pull/leg split. For each day one big (complex) lift + 3 smaller ones. Don't worry about getting caught up in the details, picking up and putting down heavy stuff is the most important part of it. Push days will be chest press/ variant(s) + shoulder work Pull days will be deadlift/ variant(s) + arms Leg day will be squat/ variant(s) + leg isolation work. Ex-competitive lifter here, and trust me when I say consistency is *far* more important than finding the "perfect" workout

"For all the gym goers, Just wondering what's the best push / pull work out (no pun intended), what basics will work for a newbie lifting weights aiming to burn fat/tone up" ------------ Keep it simple Make sure you're injury free first, get a Trainer for a session or two and he/she should focus on basic compound ('meat and potato") exercises like CHEST PRESS / PUSH UPS ON KNEES (chest and arms) SEATED ROW (back and posture) DUMBELL GOBLET SQUAT (bum and thighs) REVERSE LUNGES (tighten up bum and back of legs) To get body fat down, not too much cardio (as produces stress hormone leading to overeating after) but keep an eye on portion sizes and calories you've been eating slightly and you should get there

You could to damage to your back. Alot of bodyweight exercises are great to start. Press ups, sit ups, hollow holds etc.. build your core before you hit the weights.

"While i do miss the gym and really getting into a focused 60 minute workout its probably the perving that i miss the most lol I always aimed to use as many muscles as possible during a session and have two separate workouts to alternate. Every machine serves a purpose. Google or a PT will help with gettimg the best out of free weights And dont forget leg day " And never miss a Monday!
