Has anyone any recommendations for treatment for psoriasis on face?

Everything I seem to have tried does nothing for me.

Currently sitting here with my face on fire.

Although the best solution is not to get run down or stressed out in the first place, which is easier said than done

Is it psoriasis or rosacea ?

Have you seen a dermatologist?

Protopic 0.1% is good for redness or another ointment called Soolantra

If it is rosacea you may need antibiotics as well but firstly you need to get to a consultant dermatologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Any facial rash is very distressing for sure

Ever tried any body shop products?

Although they’re not medical they are all natural.

I use cbd facial wash & moisturiser.

One week a month I need tea tree facial & vitamin E moisture gel.

These products are so much better for your skin than steroid creams.

And no, I’m not a body shop at home agent!! I just love the products!!

Sunlight (while we have it)

Lots of moisturiser - find one you like and will use often

Any kind of stress reduction - eating better, sleeping better, exercising better

Do you know for a fact its psoriasis? Id get a medical opinion.

Some facial disorders can be caused by stress and a good exfoliator along with a good cleansing regime can help.

Child's farm baby moisturiser, it is unbelievable I suffer very badly with psoriasis and i seen a post online some woman suggesting it saying it worked wonders for her so I decided to try it,I honestly can't recommend it enough, I use it after every shower and that's it nothing special to it I just switched moisturiser and I havnt had a flare up in about 9 months.

It works really really well for me!

Child’s Farm is a godsend…I’d used Hydrocortosil for years and it had waned in its efficacy….now I use nothing but child’s farm gentle wash and unscented moisturiser -haven’t had a flare up in the last 2 years. Great stuff!

i find o'keeffes foot and body creams good....but its a case of trial and error....somethings will work for you others wont....... watch the stress levels and certain foods can trigger too in my case....oranges for some reason that fails me

I use a moisturizer called double base

Helps a bit

Have used a load of creams and injection products with only very poor results

There's a Chinese product I find helps to

Might not be suitable for the face though

My family have psoriasis, I'm not too bad but my brother and dad are

T-gel shampoo is really good for the hair scalp and face. Also coconut oil is a natural aid and it does calm the flaking and redness without irritating.

But ultimately see a doctor.

Oh also, cut out pork and caffine, 2 wonderful stimulants but avoiding these helps with it too. Hopefully there's something to take from and help here

Lidl, coconut oil....it's about €2.49, you'll find it in the cooking section, it's the exact same quality you get from the high end health shops.

I also don't wash my cloths in anything fancy, salt and some liquid soap, also stay away from fragrances, I also just use plain soap, no fragrance for washing, body and hair.

I used to be 85% covered in psoriasis, at around 20% now many years of coconut oil and sun , I also know that what works for me won't work for everyone.

Good luck, it's a shity thing to have to carry. It's been with me most of my life.

Does it make physical contact painful

Can it be spread to someone else

Do you find it hard to show someone else your body because of it

I would suggest you use Aloe vera (the pure stuff not the cheap stuff with a ton of chemicals) or E45. That might relieve the discomfort.

Now, as for clearing it out do not use the various steroid creams you may come across here UNTIL you see a doctor or dermatologist. The skin on the face as we all know is very sensitive and by slapping on heavy steroid based creams could scar you for life.

Oh and psoriasis is not contagious or you can’t catch it from being with contact with somebody. There are a number of factors that can trigger it and it’s nothing to do with hygiene.

Have you tried dream cream from lush

Read up on it my daughter had bad Eczema as a young child and was so bad . One night I rang out of the steroid cream and put this dream cream on just to Moisturise her skin, I did this for a few days cause literally overnight her skin had shown signs of improvement and it cleared the whole thing up

I have read people with Psoriasis use the cream and it’s worked too

I got the condition in my late 30's , Strep throat was the trigger for mine , tried lots of steroids creams , had to go to skin specialist, and tablets and numerous creams eventually got rid , has a second wave of it a few years later , took a year to get rid of it, i now use Ovelle Silcock's base cream , can use it as a soap too in the shower and there is no parfume etc in it , i havent had any flare up in a years now even thou i had Strep Throat a few times since too ,

But like most said , what could work for one person may not for another , daily moisturising , with a fragrance free cream will help in long run

Eumovate is good for the face as its less harsh, u need to tell the chemist u have it on ur bottom, my dermatologist told me to say that as they don't like giving it put without seeing it first, and they won't ask u to edit ur pants off in the chemist!

Also, Forever Living do a cream called propolis that's really good and also a spray called Aloe First which is really soothing when ur on fire, it dries like water so that's a bonus and it's so cooling. Good luck!

I would recommend going natural for 1 week cutting out everything you put on your body, creams, moisturizers, deodorant, shower gels, shampoo, soap, powders, perfumes and have some cold showers. A lot of these are skin irritants. A cold shower will soothe the skin and promote good circulation.

About 3 years ago I had an outbreak and found it was caused by the white can of lynx deodorant. I had perfect skin all my life. I cut out the lynx and it cleared up.

I now only use Aveeno moisturizer and body wash, both fragrant free and feel great.

Topical creams can give good short-term relief to the Psoriasis patient, but up to date research h indicates that the root cause may be a deficiency in your intestinal microbiome, which can be rectified by fermented foods, such as kefir (your own is best) sauerkraut, kimchi, and other fermented foods. Symprove may be beneficial, but some advocate a faecal implant to rectify the deficiency.

Stress anxiety and depression are triggering factors too.

Search in Google Scholar: lots of good info.

There is no cure if it is indeed psoriasis. The best treatment is regular washing to keep it clean and to use a steroid ointment or scalp treatment if it goes into the hairline. Betnovate do both and its very effective but you have to be religious about the washing. If you have it on your scalp, you need to wash your hair every day and for some reason, keeping your hair really short helps (if you're a man)

Oh! And the best facewash to use it Simple. Let it soak in to loosen dry skin so it can then be removed with a sponge or wadded face cloth.

Protopic ointment works well for facial psoriasis.

Anyone with facial psoriasis should see a consultant dermatologist ( as most GP’s wouldn’t have a clue) in the first instance to determine that it is infact Psoriasis and not rosacea which is more common on the face and then with an accurate diagnosis consider the appropriate treatment options for your specific condition and severity

Yes it's great and you can also get scalp lotion too

The best thing is sun which we are lacking unfortunately in Ireland

I used to try and and get a Winter sun holiday which really helped.

Stress is a major factor. Diet too (eliminate dairy, tomatoes, peppers and wheat)

There are also of great emollients you purchase over the counter...Cerva Ve and silcocks base is great.

Main thing is to stay away from any perfumed products.

Was just going to say stay away from tomatoes and Dairy products. I now eat and drink alot of lactose free products. Havnt had a problem in about 8 years. Best treatment is always light though, let your gp know how its affecting you and they should refer you to the clinc for light treatment.

30 seconds and you will be roasted.

Organic apple cider vinegar, it stinks if it's on your face and will redden for a few hours but it clears it up like nothing else once the redness goes. Once a week is more than enough to keep it away
