I love the writing style....it's somewhat typical of the 1920's.

Yes I like that line . A lot of self help statements are a load of crap but some whilst a bit wishy washy sounding are true . Take the ‘only author of my story is me’. If you apply this to one’s sex life, it should absolutely not be the decision of another author to write the story of what your sex life is like long term, through restricting it or stopping it without reason or some communication . Some self help stuff applied correctly Is actually helpful IMO

Am not a book person as such , l only read autobiographies of sports or musicians tbh , l get very tired very fast when reading a book , it takes me ages , lm maybe halfway into a chapter and l want to sleep but that helps me absorb the details of the book way better.

To familiarise myself with any subject I read the most up to date research report which almost invariably has an introductory overview followed by the latest developments. It's an efficient use of my limited and valuable time.

I see no point in reading novels, or any other fictional material.

The fab forum is a great indicator of what is happening within the lifestyle in Ireland and there is an increasing number of high quality papers available online.

Books are a fading communication medium.

I think the purpose of textbooks is the possibility of learning vicariously from the experience of others, which I find tedious.

I must prefer to back to first principles.

This week I printed off several reports from a specialist website, about subjects that interest me and have had a pervasive influence on individual and societal behaviour.

I find these media more informative and useful; and a more productive use of my most limited personal resource: time.

Wow!! Just look at all the avid readers here!! There's definitely scope for a dirty book club

I'm on book 24 (yep 24th out of 25) from Susanna Gregory's Matthew Bartholomew. Love them all, and am at a loss as to what to start on next when I finish this series- although I'll probably move on to another of her series'.

I read every night before bed, at least 30 minutes of wind down at the end of the day with no devices and just enjoy the scene set for me.

During the day I read a lot too for work, but I suspect we all do, so I find its nice to just read for relaxation at night.

I read Richard Harris' Dictator recently enought too, that was brilliant.

As you can see, there's a bit of a theme with my reading - I like historical

I read Richard Harris' Dictator recently enought too, that was brilliant.

As you can see, there's a bit of a theme with my reading - I like historical

Robert Harris' Fatherland is excellent too.

Conn Iggulden as mentioned above I think has a few really good historical series

Yep his memoir. I am really enjoying it and he is a fantastic writer. He writes so well he paints a great image/scene. I have always found him very interesting. Very deep and a decent skin from a good working class family. He always spoke out against injustices, including the Catholic church which I admired.

I didn't know he was a teacher before the acting. Spoiler alert

Same as Brendan Gleeson.

Go for it. And it's not long either. Not filled with fluff. I am flying through it because it's enjoyable to read

I'd never heard of Bracken so I googled it... that was a rabbit hole.. Glenroe was a spin off of it and it was a spin off of the Riordans.

Fuck when RTE have content that run with that shit.

I'm suprised there wasnt a Miley Christmas special.
