i travel all over

Some of the profiles on fab really do stun me with some of the stylish pics on display . Is this an important aspect for you , or can it intimidate you somewhat and stop you approaching others ?

I do try to turn up to every meet wearing a suit , not in anyway stylish tbf but at least giving the message that this is not a low priority event for me. Are clothes a consideration for you on meets or is it the easier you can take them off the better ?

Feel free to name drop profiles you find very alluring in this way , but stay respectful and nice

Clothes are very important to me. If l dont feel good or think l look good then lm not happy. The way one dresses sends out certain signals.

An ability to take a good pic doesn't and shouldn't intimidate anyone.

I prefer anyone I'm meeting to be relaxed and that includes in their dress code for the day.

For me a suit at a coffee meet is pretentious. If it was for a prearranged scenario that's a different matter. The old adage of less is more also applies here. Make an effort but there's no need for overkill.

Casual comfortable clothing for a social meet and a little extra for a play meet.

Agree 100%, I would think it ridiculous if someone turned up to a coffee meet wearing a suit unless it were his work attire and he was coming from there. I'll most likely be wearing jeans, or a dress if it's warm.

For a coffee usually dress and heels and stockings but that's what I normally wear everyday for work. I do like to make a good first impression.

I was working in a shellfish factory in Wexford yesterday surrounded by scallops and craps.

I organised to meet someone while driving home and only realised while driving that I stunk of the sea.

No spare clothes in the car so drove with the windows open to try to get rid of the smell

First thing I said when I got out of the car was sorry I smell of fish

Pretentious ? Moi ?

Majority of meets are during (lunch) after or before work Hence the suits , but I like the look in any case

There are way more stylish ways of dressing a man than a boring suit. I wouldn't be impressed with the latter. Anyhow because I know men eat with their eyes I normally dress accordingly yet classy for a meet.

Great creative pics are always appreciated, it gets the saliva production going.

I do make an effort, whether its a coffee meet or a play meet, in saying that I don't go OTT. I prefer to be comfortable. I really don't meet many guys anymore so if i have decided to meet someone, i already like them so im not particularly bothered about how dressed up they get. I met a guy recently who met me in a tshirt and jeans and he knocked my socks off. It's about the guy not the clothes.

When it comes to dressing in the bedroom, i always choose lingerie I think the guy will particularly like but in my experience it's kind of a waste of time as its usually off in seconds.

My only criteria in picking clothes for a coffee meets is that I’m showing a bit of cleavage and that I feel comfortable in the clothes.

Outside of work hours, I’d find it odd if a guy was dressed up. Once he’s neat and tidy it’s all good.

As for pics it's pretty easy to make a half decent attempt at great looking photos every phone these days has some sort of settings to help and good quality cameras. It really just takes a small bit of effort ita why I'd always have been put off in the past by someone with poor quality pics

Plus pics are just pics. We all take them from favourable angles and a good pic tells you nothing other than that the person knows their angles.

I can feel anxious or nervous before a meet especially if it’s a first so dressing comfortably helps settle the nerves, that said it’s usually jeans and a polo shirt or something along those lines.

People's pics would never intimate me but some pics that people have are amazing .

As for what to wear to a meet it depends on the meet but usually something casual and nice especially for a first meet. Even for a meet where you know things will go farther it's more about what I have on underneath I spend more time thinking about.

As for a guy I meet I prefer then to be wearing something they are comfortable in in saying that trackies would be off putting

And if a guy wore a suit just to meet me I'd think he was over dressed the only exception is if he was coming from work or something like that.

Personally I want what the person wears to reflect who they are, for them to feel comfortable and confident in what they're wearing...so long as it's clean and tidy.

That's what people get from me and it's what I look for in others. Anyone expecting me to turn up for a meet - social or otherwise - wearing stockings and heels would be sorely disappointed. I'm a dress and converse/DMs kinda woman...take me as you find me, this is me. Naturally edgy casual will almost always catch my eye

Totally agree with this point of view wrt being comfortable in your clothes, it tends to make the wearer more relaxed and confident. I love looking at some of the profile photos for inspiration of different looks and makeup/hair etc.

Clothes are so important, I love to see someone's style in their profiles as well, it tells more about their personality than a dick pic.. having said that Samson will not play ball & pose.. damn it.. lol. On a meet I love to dress as sexy as appropriate for the place if that makes sense & I like to see a man in whatever he is comfortable & confident.

It's the profile as a whole which speaks to me, pics, text, Forum contribution...

Mind you, I will admit that some can be intimidating and first thought might be - whoa, out of my league! But it wouldn't stop me approaching someone, and I have been known to hunt .

As for meeting someone, I'm a jeans and T-shirt kinda gal, or summer/winter dress, skinnies with boots, more casual than formal unless it's a special event or party.

The person I'm meeting, I'd hope they turn up to start with , that they're washed and dressed so that they feel comfortable in their own skin.

After that, it's about chemistry

I always dress well for meets , doesnt matter if its only a coffee, social or fun meet. Usually jeans pressed shirt and jacket. A little bit of effort goes a long way. Havent worn a suit in ages due to lockdown. Apart from weddings there doesnt seem to be a need in my line of work.Although I do have 4!!!

It can be something of a lottery - I find that a pair of smart navy or black jeans, a well fitting polo and a suit jacket never goes wrong.

I don't think any one person can dictate as to how someone should dress for meets as we all here are individuals. So have we now fashion police as well as mods and admin here ?? ,Or is it another so called forum experts opinion. I like to dress well when meeting someone be it for a coffee or something else. I also do admire a man who also dresses well. Its often said here many times that your profile is your shop window so should that not be the same for meets as in putting your best self forward. You don't have to follow any trend at all. Some guys can look as stylish in jeans and T-shirt as another can look in a suit. If you want to dress to impress well then I say good on you.

I did have clothes pictures public but after discussing when a fabber friend, they advised that people can be recognised by their clothes style in public pictures, especially if they have a distinctive style. This friend told be a story of them recognising someone solely based on a clothing garment in a public picture.

Now I keep my clothes pictures for friends only so as to avoid this potentially happening. Please don't flood me with friends requests now

I didn't see anyone digging at anyone else on here just people giving their opinions .Which is actually allowed last I saw on here.

Of course people can wear whatever they want .I just would find it a bit odd if someone dressed in a suit just to meet me especially if we had chatted for a bit they would know I am more casual than needing to be impressed by someone dressing up just to meet me.

That's a good point, and one I'd never considered. Although my profile photos aren't always representative of how I dress, I feel they reflect my personaility.

Course a tux is probably excessive for a meet but I’d say for any guy meeting a lady to dress smart is never bad advice... no lady wants to see your 8yr old runners half tattered and a crusty t shirt lol...

Dressing nicely whatever that means to you is a good thing.. your making a bit of an effort to meet someone new.. and it’s nice to show you are making an effort..

I do like people who make a bit of an effort while staying themselves… I always make an effort but always aim to be comfortable (I stress enough like that before a first meet!!)

It wouldn't intimate me, it would entice me. For me cloths are a turn on. I really enjoy seeing a well dressed lady. I know well dressed is subjective but for me elegance is sexy. On me first night out since the covid I was sitting at our table looking at all the ladies done up and as wanky and American as this may sound it was like nourishment for the eyes. Simple style done well is something I really enjoy and makes me smile. Saying that, for a meet its all about how the person's personality comes across and chemistry.

Fabbers I think have style, Rosy red lips and _issme39 I think dress so well.

As for the suit debate I was thinking about starting to wear shirts, pants and shoes in me day to day life as I feel from a price point it'll probably cost the same to dress in a pair of runners, O'Neill's pants and t-shirt as twould in shoes, a shirt and pants but from a societal point of view people probably would look at you with more regard. But the main reason I'd like to dress than way is because a well fitted suit is class!

Everyone so far is in agreement about making a good first impression so as I said at the top of the thread being comfortable is key.

I used to wear a suit at work for years but if it isn't second nature to you there's no point putting yourself through that torture in the hope of making a good impression.

You're more likely to put someone off sweating into your coffee.

I can only say how I choose to dress though and it works for me.

I wouldn't even wear a suit to court so def not to a meet.

I have one pair of shoes, black, keep them incase I need to go to a funeral.

The rest of the time its jeans and trainers...

Its what I feel most comfortable in and being happy and comfortable is more important than what anyone else thinks or makes of me.

First impressions...Ill always be smiling....

A social meet for me is for me just like meeting a friend for coffee, casual and comfortable, I'm a dress and sneakers gal, or dress and boots. I like to smell good though. Had a coffee social lately after work, his tie matched my dress lol

As for pics I fab any pic I like of both males and females and I love some of the pics people post.

You don't have to follow any trend at all. Some guys can look as stylish in jeans and T-shirt as another can look in a suit. If you want to dress to impress well then I say good on you. "

I prefer anyone I'm meeting to be relaxed and that includes in their dress code for the day.

For me a suit at a coffee meet is pretentious. If it was for a prearranged scenario that's a different matter. The old adage of less is more also applies here. Make an effort but there's no need for overkill.

Casual comfortable clothing for a social meet and a little extra for a play meet.

A man in a suit is a total turn-off for me... I'm more bo-ho... The amount of pics I get privately of men in suits is unreal...Why they assume that's what I'm into is beyond me
