It has nothing to do with self control. You are there at the invitation of the couple if they wanted a threesome they would have said so.

I've watched on a number of occasions indoors and out and there have been times when I have become involved but just as many where I haven't but there should be no presumption

I understand that there are rules beforehand absolutely . It’s just that as the situation develops if you are both into group dynamics (and being watched or watching suggests a leaning ) it’s difficult to keep it that way .
