Cleaning the kitchen

Belfast

I find that me and my other half both have to clean the kitchen at least twice a day even when we haven't cooked anything- kitchen still somehow gets messy!

It's a devil's loop.

I'm convinced that being an adult is some kind of a curse where you're stuck always cleaning the fucking kitchen!

Am I alone on this one?

Nope not at all. We have kitchen/living and it’s impossible to keep clean!

I try to keep kitchen clean and 90%I do

But when I’m out of the house I leave to my kids oldest is 24 so she’s not like Annie the orphan singing it’s a hard knock life

But I know once they think she’s coming home soon it’s one big mad dash.

Thrusdsy I got home earlier than they thought

dish washer was on for two cups two plates

Nothing else done …..

Naas which is South West of Dublin

As long as it’s not effecting health and safety, I occasionally just give up.

It only takes 2 seconds to say excuse the mess but would probably take ages to clean it up….

Unfortunately that's where the fridge is, but more importantly the stash of chocolate, crisps and sweets no getting past that mess (note to self - move the stash to the bedroom, I can just stay there, while the children fend for themselves )

4 adults in the house and for the life if me I don't understand why someone would bring their plate glass and cutlery to the counter above the dish washer and not fooking bend at the hips to put it in the fooking dishwasher

And the excuse that the dish washer was full doesnt cut the shit

Those dishes are clean lift them out and put them in their respective places so we can load as we go for the next time FFS

Other than that its usually respectable

At this stage, I just throw a hissy fit until someone else does it, damned if I'm going to clean up after adult kids

Once a day is enough. My kitchen is a mess because it's the last room in my house I haven't renovated and organised yet. It's going to be my master piece but it will never be a sleek grand design kitchen that looks like nobody ever cooks in it.

Basket? Hallway? What's wrong with the floor in front of the machine?

You could enlist the service of a decent sub

I used to cook and clean for a couple in the past, it was great fun

Trim

It's like the washing basket, just emptied, but two mins later full.

The kitchen one is easy solved though.

Just clean it then eat out all the time.

Sensual Center

the kitchen is probably the most used room in our house ...so it going to get dirty and needs a belt of a cloth more often...

Maybe OP your overly worried about having it perfect? A kitchen is never going to be perfect....but it should be clean hygienically and tidy. If you are not actually cooking but it still gets untidy....maybe ye are bit untidy in general as the day goes on. Possibly try to clean and tidy over the course of the day. For example, if you have some crackers, but everything back and quick wipe down of the surface. Then it won't build up and be all left for evening time. But if ye are already doing this, then it is down to something else possibly.
