So just wondering opinions. It’s a question on profile details so must be important to some. So turn on or turn off? Or makes no difference to you ?

Turn on i have to admit.

But why its considered as an important question like smoker or can accommodate is a bit of a mystery!

Tattoos are a turnoff for me, principally because they cannot be removed and smudge over time.

If they were only temporary, like henna, I would be more favourably disposed to them.

Some are real works of art, but will look awful in 20 years time.

Big big turn off.

Small discrete one or two is no big deal but any more than that or 'sleeves' or limbs covered in spurious graphics or bleeding skulls or roses or barbed wire .. instant boak I'm afraid for me. Even worse is random passages from the Bible or some song lyrics written in straight lines across the otherwise lovely curves of the female form especially chest boobs etc that you can't read after 6 months anyway is just quite ridiculous and an instant no for me regardless of anything else.

Chinese lettering, pseudo celtic symbols, dates of kids etc I just find incredibly tacky with the usual reasoning being they are 'unique' or 'different' just stimulates a fit of yawning outrage in me ... (Tired smiley) zzz (lol..)

Wee love hearts, a wee cherry, a swallow, a wee flower, that kind of discrete adornment is mildly sexy because of its discretion more than what it is. However, facial, neck, head, knuckles, female chest tattoos, 'chandaliers' 'hanging' from a pair of tits suggests to me mental health issues of a fairly permanent nature ..

Yes Maori people have been tattooing themselves for thousands of years but that's different and has a much deeper cultural meaning than a bunch of roses growing from a bleeding skull.

IMO.

I like tattoos but it's not a defining want in meeting a guy.

I can overlook a couple of them, heavily tattooed is a complete turnoff for me

I like them in moderation but I don't allow physical attributes or artwork to determine who I will or won't meet.

I like them. Both from a professional standing and as an attraction.

I admire them on others and they can look slick as hell…I wouldn’t get them for me but I think others can carry them off very well…

I like them but I have to say that as I have some. Im not so sure about neck and hand tattoos tho, only certain people can pull those off

I like them - obviously as one of those mentally impaired women a previous poster mentioned - but they wouldn't determine whether I'd meet someone or not unless said tattoo/tattoos depicted something I find politically/morally offensive

That’s some strong views. Didn’t understand why it was a part of the profile as it didn’t seem a big thing. But now see others feel fairly strongly on the subject. For us it isn’t an important thing. Not like we plan to bring you home and introduce you to the kids or mammy. But then for us size and age aren’t an issue either. It’s all about someone with a good smile that doesn’t take take life too seriously.

With regards to tattoos they’ve actually been a good starting chat at a meet. The whole getting from chatting to getting naked bit... “have you any tattoos” then stripping to show them. And “sure while your naked”. Ha ha.

well executed tatoos can look good on fit bodies but what they will look like in 25 years time is another issue. Removal of tatoos will become a big issue in the future, start saving now.

I think they are interesting, to look at and to find out about a person too. Not an essential but I like them yeah, they are sensual.

Tattoos/no tattoos wouldn't influence whether I would consider meeting someone, unless the ink indicated opinions that would be deal breakers for me.

They can be great conversation pieces, finding out the reasons behind them, getting a bit of insight into the person.

"they'll look shit in 25 years"

Only if you let yourself go and become a saggy, over UV'd wrinkle. In which case you're going to look shite even without the tattoo...

I quite like the tatoo asthetic. While I don't have any tattoos myself and have no plans to get myself inked in the immediate future, I've have some fwb's and had at least one longterm girlfriend who were heavily tattooed. Some of my friends are heavily inked tell me they experience quite lot of prejudice. You would think that most people would be more open minded about tattoos especially since they have become more mainstream, but I guess there will always be small minded people.

Love them on a lady, ones that accentuate curves like down the sides or spine are such a turn on.

There are exceptions of course but as a rule a big turn on, if it's just a small discreet one or covered from head to toe.

Also as said earlier I the thread, great to start conversations and always interesting why they choose the tattoo and why it's where it is?
