Oh because obviously if you live in a county with high transmission, regardless of how responsible you've been and observing guidelines, you must be held accountable for the actions of people whose only discernible link to you is geography!

His drinks licence should be removed. Drinks licences get reviewed by a judge every year or two so it just takes the right judge and a gaurd to question it I believe.

Let the locals drink in the other 2 bars in town. That might make him think twice next time.

Because of the actions their boss oversaw and who is probably their brother or uncle anyway? I dont have a problem with that.

Can they not work in one of the other many businesses their family owns or indeed work in the other 2 bars in town as their business would certainly improve as a result.

Thats just petty with all the bull that has went on the last 18 months, there were pubs open all over the country during lockdown not a word on it and not to mention all the shady stuff the government have done, I'd try take off the rose tinted glasses if I were you

Thats the general consensus since the beginning of the state tho there's no accountability in this country never was...but vilaifying a publican just because he's a TD and saying nothing about the gathering for Miss Zapone not to mention her appointment is madness in my eyes...

And yet we've already established that if ya wanna bash Zappone and Merrion, feel free to make another thread.

And he isn't just an innocent publican who happens to be a TD, he's a privileged TD who happens to be a publican, and as such, isn't held accountable when we have seen numerous publicans lose their licence for equal or smaller offences.

I see so youre saying as long as you're in an establishment party it's all OK...this is a thread about the publican TD flouting regulations and the comments regarding Zappone are rebuttals of the same said offence so they both go hand in hand no matter what way you want to dress it up...

My reference too is to the employees of the place not the owner ... he alone should be accountable but if you wish a business to close down making people unemployed for having the craic in a pub while 25000 people are heading to Croke park tomorrow and that's perfectly fine... think people need to have a reality check

No wonder, we had/have some nonsensical restrictions and at some stage people just can't be arsed anymore. I'm on the old continent at present, life is much more normal here.

They are no doubt into shady stuff just like the government.

A big fine and a review of licensing at a bare minimum nobody is above the law. A bar in Dublin was shut because they flaunted the rules and lost their license
