The organiser really didn't help his case with his fairly arrogant prediction a few days ago.

I really don't understand the logic in setting dates and selling tickets etc etc and then looking for planning permission.

Its a licence rather than planning

Its the way the system works here....thats why 5 nights of Garth Brooks could be sold with licence to follow

The licence can only be issued within a certain number of days of the event

We have tickets but were not really planning on going, were in the wait and see mode.

Personally think they were been a bit over ambitious with their 70,000, unless they were looking at increasing the size of the site? 20,000 might have maybe been a more realistic figure but feel sorry for all those employed in the events industry

allow it to run for vaccinated individuals was another runner. the entertainment hospitality industry are now looking for government to return and issue a roadmap so they know the plan for the future. you could have 85% fully vaxed by the end of August.

Think they'll offer refunds now or a freebie like a laminated ticket if they don't have to give you a refund and you let them hold onto your money

My thoughts exactly when I heard him on the wireless earlier in the week

what was his prediction?

I don't see how people are so naive to believe that it would go ahead. We still can't walk into a bar or restaurant for a pint or meal without been fully vaxxed and having a qr code. People hardly expected to be allowed go in the thousands to a festival when only this week 100 are allowed attend a wedding!

The best we can hope for this year is to go somewhere in Europe for a few days and no quarantine!

He said he was "100% fully expecting Electric Picnic to go ahead" and that he couldn't see any reason it wouldn't go ahead.

Devil's advocate here but I just don't agree with any gig you have to buy tickets for before knowing at least a few of the artists playing.

There's no feckin way a gig like that was going ahead before 80% population vaxxed anyway

EP is more than a gig though

People don't care about the lineup anymore

It's more of an event to meet your mates and have the last blow out before the school run into christmas or it used to be before they put the attendance up to 70k

It could still go ahead. Probably lots of talks going on in the background.

he's right. it should be going ahead. outdoor venue, if u want, just allow vaccinated in or reduce capacity. there is just 80 % fully vaccinated in the country from adults. how much better do they want to go 2 allow things run?
