I’m sure I’m not the only one utterly sick of the troll type threads that appear from certain posters. The ones posted just to get a reaction.

I’ve been guilty of giving them a reaction out of pure frustration but I’ve made a pact with myself to stop feeding them. Now that I’ve said it here, you’re all obliged to send me blue waffles pics if you see me post on one of them

I don’t know if they would give up and fuck off if people in general stopped replying but surely it’s worth a try.

Anyone agree?

Btw, just posting my intention here to help hold myself accountable. I know I can pass by any thread that I don’t like but sometimes my temper gets the best of me

It’s the same people over and over so don’t even need the green arrow at this stage…it is a very handy feature though!

I agree and I have to say I have been guilty of reacting at times especially if it is something that I feel strongly about. But yes I agree completely it would be better just to ignore them .

Sometimes though it can make interesting reading to see the viewpoints of some on them.

Firstly I dont think they would stop ad there is always someone to give a reaction.

Secondly I'll post on any thread that takes my interest, the interactions that come from them woth genuine users is usually worth it anyway.

And finally they are still better than fab a pic, wink at me and kiss fuck pass threads

I feel like they have this functionality on F3tl1f3 but it's incredibly annoying because you can't actually follow the thread properly... So you end up unblocking and reblocking

I made a thread in the site help section previously wondering if you could mute certain posters! Seems you can’t but it would be a very handy feature to avoid those troll threads and comments!

Can be hard not to bite on some of them but as the saying goes “talk sense to a fool and they will call you foolish” comes to mind so I avoid reacting.

That is the problem with blocking every post from that person but being able to hide a thread would be really handy

I would agree with you, The secret is to not take them or their comments seriously as they are only attention seekers who are control freaks and bullies who want to force their opinions on you. looking at some of their treads when people disagree with them, they usually trow their toys out of the pram.

on the hill NordWest of

We're all seeking attention on here in one way or the other. Some might do it more obvious than others or in a way that grinds other people's gears. When does it qualify as trolling when not is sometimes hard to say respectively can be a rather subjective matter.

I wouldn't want to see a censored forum based on block lists to create yourself a fluffy pink fab forum (that's what chat groups are for). The forum is public, there's no exclusion (unless you disregard the fab forum rules), it's diverse, colorful, sometimes controversial and all that makes it interesting.

It's not very tricky to skip threads or posts if you don't like the op or the topic. If you get worked up by some forumites you've never met, maybe have a kitkat.

"Are you not entertained?"

The great thing about forums is that everyone has the freedom to decide what they read and post in.

Everyone has different things they want and enjoy from the forums, of it was dedicated solely to one element of that it would get very boring, very quickly or else you'd just have the same tiny group of people constantly posting. Realistically, I don't anyone wants that either.

Sure it is the same tiny group of people posting

I have no interest in censoring the forum, people can post what they want. I just wouldn’t mind being able to mute a thread for myself but in that kind of case it would just disappear for me, not for anyone else.

As I said, my mission is to ignore those threads from now on, this post is really just to set it in stone for myself. Certain people will make sure to torment me if I slip up
