Been a fan of ZZ Top for years but never went to see them live. I kept putting it off until the next time. After the last year and a half I had decided that the next time they came I was going no matter what but now I’ve missed out.

Ah no, great band. An episode of King of the Hill had it thay Dusty Hill was Hank Hill's cousin.

Also funny fact, the drummer Frank Beard, is the only member of ZZ top without a beard

Saw ZZ Top and Slipknot in 2009, both were amazing. As a drummer Joey was a huge influence on me and Dusty was the man.

That came as a shock, there was no word of him being unwell until a few days ago when he had to bow out of a gig due to hip problems. This meant that the other guys played a gig without him for what I think was the first ever time (they'd kept the same lineup for over 50 years).

The hats, beards etc. meant that some people didn't take ZZ Top seriously but they were a really good boogie band, especially in the 70s. Another one I won't get to see live. RIP Dusty, a man so rock & roll that he accidentally shot himself in the stomach and lived to tell the tale.

Sad news ... seen them a few times they could pump out some serious sound for just three guys ...

All their early albums before Eliminator are essential listening ...

Lost their way a bit after Eliminator with some very commercial albums , but in last 20 year put out a few decent efforts again ...

Always Always great live band .

He'll be missed .
