Has it always been this bad.

It's basically two lads swooping over what the players are doing these days.

"Ooooooohhhhhh Ger look at that gorgeous loop he has put while trying his laces... pure class... and in this heat"

Yea it's brutal.. Some of the characters involved in hurling be it pundits and managers would wear you..

Theres only so much commentators can say in any game cause the play is always nearly the same repeat..ie..puck out..catch....tackle ..hit it..a score or wide or a 65..a lineball...a free...repeat till the game is over...then the usual interviews after the game..thats just the way it is...its all sports..not just hurling.

I get your point and yes sports commentary can be pretty hard to get right...

It's more the utter amazement and awe at even the most basic skills in the last few years has been really off putting.

It's like a really bad infomercial rather that a proper commentary on the game

Unfortunately the two main commentators who cover both codes don't have either much knowledge of the rules, nor are they much use at reading the game. It drives me mental when I hear people saying how great they are.

It's a tough enough job these days though as TV cameras can show up mistakes so easily.
