Lovely evening yesterday skinny dipping on big beach (near the end of beach) in Donabate, anyone else go there?

Plenty of private (ish) sunbathing spots in Dunnes

Going back again this week...

It’s a good spot. Just have to make sure you go down far enough to avoid the general public.

Lots of gay/bi guys in the dunes doing their thing but they keep to themselves.

Weekends can be busier but depends on the weather. Weekends might also mean you see a curious golfer or two. Summer weekend also mean that the holiday homes are in use so you might see the odd family strolling.

Excuse my stupidity here, when referring to the end I presume you mean the opposite end of the hotel, so not towards portrane?!

Its been a nudist beach for donkeys years. Once you go down far enough you are safe. I think on hot days some of the golfers deliberately hit their balls into the Dunes.

All the bare flesh came as a shock to some woman out walking and it was actually a topic on conversation on a Donabate facebook group a few weeks ago.

Also remember years ago that there was an article the press about a Garda operation in the dunes to enforce public decency after some lads were seen ‘enjoying each other’s company’ and a local councillor kicked off.

Suspect it was just for political profile and we’ve never seen Garda up there over the years (not that we frequent that often).

Yes it was all just sensationalism. Its been a well known spot dor over 40 years. I remember going for a jog on the beach when i was about 14 and first came across the nudist section.

I was fairly fit that summer. I was up and down the beach for weeks ??

Hey,

Primarily males but there were at least two M/F couples. I didn’t go exploring beyond too many of the dunes, afraid I might find a golfer holding his balls!

One of the couples were non-fabbers, ended up chatting to them for a while. They usually head abroad to GC etc annually for an all-over tan , but this year is different unfortunately.

There are a few here today as well. Another gorgeous summer’s day.

Get out and enjoy it.

I was there this evening. Three men wandering around the dunes. No nudist beach. No skinny dipping.

I thought I might have gone to the wrong place.

Three men meerkating in the dunes makes it sound like you were in the right place, but probably the wrong time
