Hi folks,

I have a question about site rules. If any of you would be able to answer it then it would be much appreciated.

I have already read the site and forum rules and didn't see a definitive answer.

So, I am aware that links to other sites are not allowed in the forums unless it is for any well known news site, Lovehoney, YouTube or Wikipedia.

I was.just wondering if it is against site rules to have a web address in your status update or main profile description.

As I said, I looked at site rules and forum rules and with the wording I didn't see anything definitive unless maybe I overlooked something.

Thanks in advance to those who can enlighten me.

Apparently it is because I've seen status updates from people complaining they had links removed from their previous status

I think it depends on what it's too.. I have been warned about having links to my own social media accounts (nothing that needs paid for)

I don't think its explicitly disallowed in the rules.. but publicly displaying ways to contact people off the site are generally not permittied. Like phone numbers, emails, Snapchat, Instagram profile links etc

Ive seen youtube links to songs etc in status updates, that doesnt seem to be an issue, but its blocked on the forum by filters

Thanks for the feedback folks. From what I read you're not allowed to publish content that is abusive or harassment and so on (for obvious reasons); and also not allowed to post links etc that is phishing or scamming. But the web address I would be wanting to show would be for a quiz and doesn't require payments so it doesn't go against the rules per se.

I suppose the only way I can find out is to try it tomorrow and see what happens.

You can always try to put the link on your profile or status if it's not allowed they will just take it down
