Lots of people rave about the cathedral quarter but not my cup of tea. But maybe worth a nosey around

Belfast is a wonderful city, and is full of excellent bars, voodoo being a personal favourite, its also a very safe city, soo I'd recommend you just wander around. As previously mentioned the cathedral Quarter is nice trendy but more expensive. Enjoy your trip

Worst bar in Belfast - terrible beer and even worse staff. Walk in, enjoy the architecture then leave to a better establishment. Start of in Muriel’s, the Sunflower or the bootleggers before ending the night on Union Street

The mourne is fantastic if you're in to seafood obviously, but needs booked in advance. Bootleggers is another casual spot. Havana can be good. As has been mentioned, have a quick squiz on TripAdvisor and then go for a walk. It's a lovely city with lovely people, for the most part.

Thanks for all the recs guys

As for taste/type etc - we're far more likely to be found in an east london craft beer place or bar with live music than a club in Soho, or a posh formal place

Saying that when holiday a bit of fancy or a bit of cheese is allowed (? )

Mr is from Liverpool originally and would never drink on Matthew Street when there - but would reccommend at least one drink there for any tourist!"

We've danced with all the other d*unk tourists at Temple Bar and paid the ridic prices etc
