Hi naughty people,

Let's say a couple books a room planning to play with some other couple or individual; in the past it was simple, the other couple or individual would just walk in and without hesitation just head to the room nr. without (generally) getting questioned by hotel staff where were they going.

These days, will all the people heading to a room need to register for Covid traceability reasons?, and if so, will the other couple or individual have to register all in the same room? of course no issue is additional room is booked ... but if not ...

Our experience of staying in hotels last summer was that none of them gave a shit who was coming or going

If you're worried about it then get the couple to book a triple room and you can register as the 3rd guest. These aren't much more expensive in many hotels.

As a manager in an extremely busy hotel I can tell you the following

We have security on the door from early evening watching people coming and going. They get an in house guest list which tells them how many people are staying in each room and the name the room is booked under

If you book a room for one person and then try and bring someone in and security spot it you will be stopped.

If you're a couple bringing someone to the room again if you're spotted you'll get stopped.

If there's two rooms booked once you're not swinging from the chandeliers no one cares what you're doing in your room with other people once youre not making a racket!

You're better off booking two rooms and then doing whatever with who ever you want as long as everyone is checked in.

The reason for being strict is not because of Covid but if the hotel went up in flames we need to know how many people are in the building.
