When did clothes pegs become shit?

Doesn't matter where you buy them from, they fall apart in moments.

Also...shoe laces have suddenly, over the last 36 months, become crap...

"Shrinkflation"

Brought about as supermarkets demand round price points

€1

€1.50

€2

Etc.

So if your product is fixed at €1, but your costs rise by 5c a year, then you eventually have to shrink what you offer to cut costs

Killeen used to sell fantastic clothes pegs made from polypropylene that were virtually indestructible. Some of the old fashioned hardware shops in West Cork still have them in stock apparently.

I've no problem with that, but they should sell the non diet versions as well and let us decide which we want. Plus I'm sure a non diet one would be a lot cheaper than 3 diet ones...

I used to run a warehouse stocking more than 10,000 different product lines and every week 100 lines had to be recoded because of a 2-5g difference in pack size designed to keep prices unchanged.

Multipacks were the worst because everyone wanted the £1 deals and that was the only way of doing it.

That's it...similar point to the one i made above on price points

And remember the actual product (biscuit, crisps) only makes up 30% of the costs

Packaging, profit, distribution, marketing, store profit...can't easily be changed so the producer reduces the number of biscuits/crisps/etc in a packet
