"Try the devils coach road"

Don't if you've got a knee injury though

It's tough but one of the latest Mournes lockdown fads though.

First everyone had to do Binnian, then it was Doan and then Devils Coach Road or the search for the secret waterfall.

That's 30 seconds from the carpark you aren't getting back.

Newry Down

Very frquently; and the current fashion of ladies wearing skintight pants accentuates their buttocks when walking behind them and presents an inviting display of cameltoe as they approach.

And I used to go out walking solely to retain my fitness!

Somewhere in Co. Down

I've done a few walks up there just need to get fitter now though to tackle longer higher hikes. The scenery is stunning up there.

Newry Down

On a very serious note, there appears to be a pyromaniac operating in the Bloody Bridge area of the Mournes; two recent massive fires have destroyed a vast swathe of heather, and also probably a lot of valuable fauna and other flora.

The burnt ground is like a wasteland and this deep burning facilities soil erosion.

These fires cannot be accidental; they always start in the same area and spread over thousands of acres; climate change is exacerbating the problem.

To date no human life has been lost, but...

It's true, a terrible situation there. I work at the foot of the mountains, we have rangers checking that range quite a few times a day recently

Anyone know if the top of Donard was affected or was it lower than that?

I think you need to get more rangers sent out Hunnitoes. I'm from the area and it's nothing more than a shameful act of vandalism. Those who done it have no remorse

Newry Down

The fires spread across the eastern face of Donard, but were so extensive that the smoke was visible from Newry and a faint sky glow was evident after dark.

Regrettably, this conflagration is going to happen again; I sincerely hope that residents or walkers are not suffocated or burned.

You would not believe the damage that this type of fire does, until you stand in the scorched area; it can take decades for the landscape to fully recover.

I have heard that the occupants of a black car are being investigated.
