"What a night in Point Theatre 30th April 1994 with only a 7 minute performance that changed many lives forever..My company were part of events production at Eurovision our first major event in Ireland.... An interesting fact from first show is that the daughter of one of our staff working there on the night from Scotland joined Riverdance 5yrs later and then left to become the lead dancer with Michael Flatley in Lord of The Dance.. " I actually prefer to watch lord of the dance live than Riverdance live

"I haven't watched Eurovision since 1981 so I didn't see it. Saw it on the news the next day and it certainly lifted the nation by the reaction but have never seen it live. " No bank holiday since 84. No Eurovision since 81. What did the 80s do to you?

"I remember it like it was yesterday! Was in the Station House in Raheny and the TV was on in the background...when Riverdance started they turned up the volume and everyone went quiet! The place erupted when it was over!! Still get goosebumps when I hear it on the radio or see it on TV!! " I remember it well . I was only up the road from you in The Bayside Inn . The place went crazy . And even crazier when Paul and Charlie went on to win contest as well

"Blimey that long ago, I feel old. I remember it well too, it was amazing to watch and the first time we had ever seen Irish dancing The whole family tried to recreate it while on a caravan holiday, it is a wonder the caravan stayed standing." I’m picturing the scene in Fr Ted with them dancing in the caravan
