Pampas grass

Wife told me this was mentioned on lose women....Pampas grass sales have plummeted due to their particular sexual connotations. Once a common plant outside suburban houses, pampas grass became known as a sign that the residents were swingers. The plant, native to South America, serves as a signal to passers-by.

We have been living at our address for 4 years now and guess what is at the entrance.... A PAMPAS GRASS PLANT.....

Haha we have a huge one at the side of our house and a pineapple ornament in the front window. Only problem is we live in the middle of nowhere so we have no one passing by

They were a fad ar one time and like all fads, they eventually run their course. They're pissy to maintain and eventually end up looking like a pile of half dead grass in the corner except they'd cut the arms off you.

Sales of Bamboos, Palms, decorative conifers and Leylandiis have also plummeted yet uthey have none of the more interesting rumours around them.

I love how sales have plummeted...so either there are thousands of new swingerd each year or the current lot are absolutely shite gardeners

I think the sales are down simply because it’s an ugly looking plant

I don't think it was ever compulsory to be a swinger if you had a pampas grass plant in your garden.
