Yacht rock apparently wasn't coined til recently, but it describes smooth pop rock by mostly one or two hit wonders, think the Pina colada song! or even as far as Fleetwood mac Rumours. The kinda songs you could imagine on a warm summer's day..on a yacht.

I have other suggestions to call the genre, country club rock, square rock, bank manager rock etc. but it sounds sweet
