Coffee Machines...

Can I ask for advice about coffee machines? I’ve a nespresso one at the moment & was hoping to upgrade but unsure of what’s out there? Can anybody offer tips on what they have, or what they’d recommend? I’ve heard sage is very good....any other ideas....greatly welcomed...

I bought a sage bean to cup machine last year and it’s been great. Took a little while to learn the tricks but plenty help online. Plenty choice of beans out there too

Have a barista express good machine, if I was buying again I would look at separate sage machine. Or the barista pro little quicker to heat up especially for milk drinks

I had a gaggia, bean to cup, which was great, but it didn't last too long and repairs were in the region of €250...so I'm back to a burr grinder and a stove-top coffee maker, they can't be beat, in my opinion

The Barista Express by Sage has it all. Its been my best pal for the last two years. Only thing I could complain is the optuons for the filters disposal, not too eco friendly but the coffee options are heaven, worth the investment.

I bought a swan retro espresso in lidl for 100 quid 3 month ago because my beloved old one (no idea what brand but it served me for more than 16 years) has some issues I hope I can fix. Anyhow I've to admit that new cheapy machine makes a decent coffee. I'm not fan of nespresso as it narrows the choice of coffee and of course the capsule rubbish. But I guess if you're a busy bee they're handy.

Get a high quality grinder and a filter device like an Aeropress. You'll get much better coffee.

I must see that one in Lidl... sounds decent

Maybe use google Hermany to avoid the extra costs of getting it from uk.

Sage look excellent but you'll be paying £500+

DeLonghi bean to cup can do beans and ground and cost £300-£400 but I got mine for £170 on Black Friday on AO.com so be conscious of that.

It's been brilliant and the Lavazza Crema e Aroma beans are just the best coffee ever, especially the roasted 2021 variety.

Areopress, its convenient, doesn't take over the kitchen and makes dam fine coffee. You can buy a grinder and select your own beans but I opt to buy good quality coffee, organic and fair trade. Theres no pods so the environment will thank you. I'm currently enjoying a lovely cup of coffee.

If you go down the grinder/ Aeropress route or similar, look to 3FE. I have no personal experience of them, but I've been buying from the UK roastery who part owns 3FE for the last... god, over five years.

hi we recently got the delonghi ec685 ,nice small tidy machine comes with grinder, knock box, and stainless steel jug for around 300 euro makes a lovely brew takes a little getting used to the milk steamer

We upgraded to a Nespresso Vertuo. I bloody love my coffee and am chuffed with it.
