There was a helicopter pad 200 yards from my bedroom window that was used 4 times a day. Having a Chinook arriving was exciting to start with but that didn't last long. My bedroom window was my TV and it wasn't censored especially when vehicles were blowing up. | |||

Wow that's a description " Apart from that everything else was normal and we played on the streets and cycled for miles. It was funny once though when playing football in a field at a friend's house. Chasing after the ball one of my friends was swallowed up by the earth when he fell headlong into a trench containing 6 soldiers that had been dug silently during the night as part of a surveillance op. I don't know who got the biggest shock but luckily it turned out ok | |||

Out playing everyday only to go home when dinner was ready.. only ever saw the north on tv.. like most down south i bet.. compelling era indeed ..worlds apart but on the same island.. | |||
