Campervan Trend

I’m noticing a trend here in this country where everyone is starting to buy campervans and vans for converting to campervans.

How many fabbers have one or love the idea of one?

Personally I think it might be the way to go this summer....

There's many a story I could tell you about swinging and campervans.

I've more than a chapter for my memoirs.

Definitely a great idea for a staycation

Oh haha I wasn't even thinking about that night

That was NOT a campervan Fast, let's be clear

That was how many swingers can have fun in the back of a transit

Be careful buying DIY campervans/renovations.. most wont get insurance as they are classed as vans.. unless you know what you are looking for or are capable of doing the work yoursels, steer clear. You could be buying a lemon that eats money. I have a caravan but if i was going to get a campervan i would buy an old genuine one first.

What about what used to be a mini bus or taxi like the caravelle?

That shouldn’t be an issue should it?

Ireland is fantastic for campering. Many times I've travelled from Cork Coast to North Coast wild camping in the most beautiful little places that other times you'd just pass off a your driving. So many quaint little villages of the beaten track on our coastline. You could be anywhere in the world.

I'm surprised it's not done more often in the fab world actually. Nice group on a secluded beach bbqing swimming cliff jumping snorkeling and all that good stuff then a camp fire in the evening with some drinks and whatever else takes your fanny

I'm afraid I am with the Top Gear boys on this one: campervans should be banned from existence and scoured from collective memory.

Leitrim & Dublin

Some awful shite home made campers for sale on DoneDeal. People sticking a mattress and a sink in the back of an owl 2002 rusty Transit and trying to sell it for €10,000. The UK is the only place to be a proper camper.

Somewhere in Co. Down

I think a campervan would be a great way of travelling around Ireland for a holiday. I don't think I could be doing with all the extra expense tho of having one .

The worst investment is a static caravan, from experience over 8 years, cost around £60k, had to sell to park owner for £20k.

My mate bought one via the siteowner because thats the rules

He had to pay 3k last year even though he wasnt allowed use it

Site owner also wants full payment this year

He says his overheads haven't changed

Siteowner tells people with mobiles older than 12 yrs to change them to keep up standards or they're out

Madness

The criteria are to be found on revenue website. If the criteria for conversion are met you can apply to Revenue for transfer to camper Unfortunately there is vrt charge depending on I think age of vehicle....Annual Tax reduces to €103 and toll charges are same as a car.
