Maybe they have a reason, loads of reasons why men and women use the oxk button. Wouldn't worry about it plenty other women or men to chat too.

Some would block if they have no interest. It saves them time when they are looking at the plethora of single males

They use automatic filters and to be honest don't let an unknown person annoy or upset you...move on

"Whats wrong with some ladies on here who block for no reason what so ever.. can any one please shed a bit of light on this"

If they want to block then it’s their choice

Could be a number of reasons for it including (but not limited to):

Profile lurking

Too close on ‘Who’s Near)

Your lack of pictures and profile image.

Don’t like your profile wording.

Something you said in the forums.

Plus the normal, wrong age, wrong orientation, wrong build, wrong whatever.

People can block who they want, and do, so don’t lose sleep over it.

"TBH I think it is just plain bad manners.. if a peraon has no interest why not just say so instead of blocking.. especially after they tell you thier so called real name.."

Because unfortunately some people and I mean both women and men cant take rejection and when someone sends a polite reply it can open up a load of abuse.

Do a search in the forums re blocking and you will see.

You never know who's going to be sour, or angry, or abusive if you say you're not interested. Safer to block, protects you from abuse from people who can't take no for an answer.

Just another point you have to realize that no one here owes you anything you really have no idea how many messages women get here on a daily basis like it's been said it saves them time than saying the same thing over and over again

And to be honest you have no profile your pics are private and there is no profile pic so getting a response is going to be even more less likely maybe make changes to that and see what happens

It's nothing to do with being dramatic. As RB says, it helps keep local updates relevant, it saves people (and us) time contacting us when we've already said no thanks (perhaps several times), it saves me eye rolls when they upload the 16th photo that week that's ripped directly from porn sites, etc, etc.

It's an efficient filter, nothing more, nothing less.

I have just blocked a woman which is rather unusual. I see lots of posts from women on here saying men are pushy. Well as much as I am seeking a woman, I recently interacted with a lady who is on here for just seven days and has managed to accumulate 15 friends in this time. She wants to meet immediately. When I suggested meeting up first for a coffee might be a good way to break the ice she suggested so long as it was near my place that would be fine. We were communicating on Snapchat briefly but then it suddenly stopped. I got a message then at 4 am today demanding to use Snapchat. So I thought apart from being a bit pushy something not right here, so I blocked her. So you see ladies, it's not just the men who are pushy-us boys get it too it seems!

My block list made up completely of single males who send me stupid text speak messages.

Stupidly I'm polite enough to message back and say no thanks its not what I'm after.

They usually message straight back "how big is ur cock"

One fella told me to get with the times when I complained to him about his stupid text speak.

Id rather go around and give them a lick of a Hurley around the back of the head but for now block is the only available option

You're not really understanding the issue. There are tens of thousands of profiles here. I can't be expected to remember the names of all the profiles who I don't want to have sex with. Blocking is a handy way to filter them out. It's not a personal insult. Don't be so touchy. I don't get offended when other people don't want to fuck me. You shouldnt either.

Others have already layed it out perfectly above but my thoughts are it could be for any number of reasons, not all of them a personal 'judgement' on anyone and that is the persons right and choice so little point overthinking it or taking offence.

I've experienced it before where I've been blocked by someone I've never even interacted with but possibly something I've said in a forum or something on my profile caused that particular person to choose to block me. Nothing I can do to influence it once its happened and not worth overthinking.

So... You reply to any spam email you receive in your mailbox?

Why should anyone waste their time replaying to unwanted emails?

The block is a simple message:I am not interested in anything you have to say. I do not want to talk to you and I do not want you to contact or even look at me. It is me, my profile, my life and it is not your business.

What I do, who I want to talk to, who I meet it's my business

Most men on this site are not polite in direct messages, unless you have a very very very low bar for polite.

For example, it's not polite to repeatedly message someone who hasn't responded to you (which is a clear indication of lack of interest) no matter how civil the content of the message is. 99% of the men I block are for this reason - constant repeated messages, winks, friend requests - it's low level harassment tbh.

Nobody owes you a response just because you decided you want to talk to them. My existence on this site isn't a blanket consent to engage with everyone who approaches me. The issue here is the sense of entitlement that leads people to believe otherwise.

I'll never understand why people take it so personally.

For example...we're browsing profiles. We read one that perhaps catches our eye. Then we read they categorically don't want to meet bi guys. So we block the profile and make a note. Not personal, it's purely admin.

Similarly if they don't want to meet fat girls. I'm a fat girl, I'm not their type so there's not going to be any need for them to ever contact us or vice versa. Not personal, it's purely admin.

A profile posts regular status updates about snow/white/lines. They've got it/want it/want to share it/want to fuck on it. We've no interest in ever meeting them for that reason and it's a continual bore on our updates. We block, we don't see their updates and we will perhaps see something more relevant. Not personal, its purely admin.

You have yet to come on to the forum and make a positive contribution!

You are either slagging or insulting people.

The forum is very much what you make of it, and with such a negative outlook and negative behaviour, surprisingly its only going to seem like a negative place

You reap what you sow, take a look at yourself before you blame others perhaps.

"Not paranoid at all just saying the truth. I’m hardly ever on the forums because of nasty bitchy people so i won’t be on it again for a long time... "

So you understand in practice that it's ok to not communicate in a certain way because some people who use that method of communication are people you don't want to engage with. It's just when people do it to YOU that it's wrong.

It's just that there are a lot fewer women here than men, so blocking loads of men won't effect a females chances of getting a meet. I don't feel blocking is any kind of "agenda". It's just another tool that some folks use to make the site work better for them.

I’m just obviously something they don’t like to see and that’s perfectly ok. The only reasons I’d block people here if they messaging me abusing me or non direct status’s which I know are aimed at me. All good! Happy Tuesday "

Does it actually say they’ve blocked you or are you just outside their filter parameters?

I can’t imagine anyone would block you...

I don’t think I’ve blocked anyone, I take contact as a compliment and either politely reply or ignore which people probably really should take as an answer also.

Although I’m sure some just live in hope that they’re message wasn’t noticed, but if it was seen and not replied to then that’s probably an answer.

All the indicators made me think that. He was very pushy about knowing my nationality. I kind of smelled the xenophobia so I delayed a bit, not giving much importance either to his nationality. The chat went great but as soon as I mentioned I was not Irish he said good luck and blocked me. So I took that as a statement

"kinda strikes me... if you are not interested in someone sexually, does that mean that you cannot have a non sexual chat about any other topic?

"

Not necessarily. Sheer numbers dictate that we won't block everyone we're not interested in sexually. Or there's the people who, through talking a while, we get on with but know there's no chemistry, and we don't block those people. However for the purpose of specifically seeking people out for sexual liaisons the block button becomes a useful filter tool. We certainly don't have time to talk to everyone so whilst some perfectly lovely people may end up blocked through no fault of their own other than they're not compatible with us and vice versa, it's just one of those things where the benefit outweighs the negative.

We have learnt the hard way. There was a time when we thought it polite to reply to every message. But after you have people threaten to slit your throat, or hope you catch AIDS, it does make you think twice.

I used to be a big believer in that, but ended up in many many awkward "I don't fancy you that way" conversations. Given person would pretend not to notice and continue flirting and it would just become increasingly more awkward

I don't mind being blocked at all. It prevents me from accidentally contacting someone that isn't interested. Its a good use of filtering. And there's always the angry incels on here that resort to abuse upon rejection.

You could get a nice message saying you're not for them and I suppose in the real world that would happen but this is fan. Women and couples get snowed in with mail from horny single men. In my opinion using the block button saves everyone time and effort.

Heared this before from men and women. Sent a sorry not interested And the abuse started. So sometimes blocking is easier.

People have gave you reasons here and you don't see happy with.
