what would your social circle of friends and social life be like away from fab? have you a vibrant social life apart from fab? I'm talking normal times.

I have a small group of people that I trust and who are reliable and good fun. I'm an introvert so don't need constant company, I'm selective.

Pretty much the same as on fab

My social life isn't as active as I'd like it to be! I'm someone who prefers close connection, so I have a few besties rather than a large group of friends, and most of them live in a different place to me.

Also, my local friends are mostly at a different stage of life to me - husbands, kids, mortgages - I have very few single pals to go on the tear with!

Most of my social life revolves around my work colleagues (who I do consider friends), so I've really felt the impact of that during lockdown.

Depends what you mean by vibrant?

I have a small group of friends who meet now and again to go hiking or some related event pre covid. We don't live in each others homes but keep in touch. We are only a phone call away if needed. Social life for me has never involved pubs or clubs but that doesn't mean I don't have one.

My social life pretty much revolves around my hobby and through that hobby I've made great friends. Given the amount of time dedicated to it, it's more a way of life and I'd see some of these friends more than my family.

That said, my social life is probably less varied than it was before moving back here from England. Over there I had more mummy friends, friends from different clubs & a very vibrant work social life.

My circle is definitely smaller now & no less fulfilling but I miss some of my friends over there and my old work life dearly

I've a group of 5 friends from childhood and maybe 2 other people I would consider real friends....

My family are close too.

To be honest O couldn't manage a massive group of people I like my alone time too much

I have a handful of close friends some I have known for a long time some are people I have only known a shorter time but are still what I consider to be true friends.Some I have met through fab.

I don't rely on fab for my social life but it adds to it.

I've got a very close set of friends of about 8 that meet up regularly but that I would be in contact with almost every day that revolve around sport and then a much wider group of friends that I'd meets around other activities . Obviously covid has had a big impact on socialising with them all but not so much that I'm not in contact. I'm lucky in that way

I have really only 3 friends i really trust, we all live in different parts of the country, only see them a few times a year, the rest of the time I spend alone and to be fair I like it and keep it that way. Cant see it changing for me any time soon.

We have close friends who we used to meet up regularly before C19 hit. We'd go out for lunches dinners drinks we always had a plan hatching. Be it concerts weekends away trips abroad or even just a day out in croke park or a club game. I also was very lucky as my work has a great social side to it too. I am still in contact with everyone and really miss just even being able to pop over to each others houses even for a natter. I know when restrictions lift that my time here on fab will become less and less.

just out of curiosity. if the government told you to stop your social life for the rest of this year and into 2022 , would you do it ?

I have a wide and varied friends mix, old and new, some i share hobbies with, some i share lifes smiles and tears with. no big 'friends group' as such, its more of a pick and mix. Nowhere else currently has the banter and stimulation there is here for me though.

I would say I have half the friends I did 10 years ago. When some friends seemed to turn 30 I can say they went a bit odd and slowly drifted away. Never going out or doing social activities. Nothing to do with having kids. It’s like they said I’m 30, now I should be boring. People who I thought were best friends. There was no fights or fall outs, they just drifted away from all their friends, not just me.

I’m glad to have about 5/6 close friends now.

I have a 3 close friends from childhood and some fabbers that I count as good friends. I need my alone time so the small group works for me. I do find myself being absolutely sick of the amount of alone time I have at the moment but I will stick it out for as long as I have to.

that's what more and more are doing and will continue to do into the summer. the day of nearly everyone sitting on their tod and doing what they're told to do like sheep with no plan or roadmap in sight is wearing thin on alot more people now.

I've quite a good social life, and it tends to keep my occupied. Though I've different groups of friends. None know anything about fab or such though!

Fab is nice but I'm missing my besties from school/college... We used to have a good social life (zoom is NOT the same!)... So that gang and a good social life at work which used to involve a lot of travel abroad.... There is light at end of tunnel for us all.. Yay!

I've a number of social groups with different activities and interests from sports, travel and community involvement. We've kept in touch, maintained interests in planning activities for when things open up and generally making sure we're all doing ok. It'll be great to engage again on a more physical level.
