Normally waxing in a salon

Tried shaving last week and hopefully lockdown is over before I need to do that again

Saw a special mens hair removal cream in the local chemist over the weekend which will be investigated

I can never bring myself to the idea of totally smooth! Quick, tight and careful trim does the job every couple of weeks

I agree about not leaving it on too long.

I bought a hair removal cream 10 years ago in Florida for upper body use. It was brilliant.

I took it home with me and a few months later used it again.

I hadn't checked the date and it was almost 2 months out of date.

I ended up with 2nd degree burns on my shoulders and upper chest.

Just as well you only used it on your chest...you'd think 2 months wouldn't make a huge difference

I always shave now and it's dead easy.

A combination of a waterproof Philips manscaper and the best tip I ever saw on here.

Don't use shaving foam or gel but use conditioner instead. Makes all the difference.

Phillips have an IPL hair removal tool for home use. It’s not cheap, but it’s effective and will remove hair permanently. I’m not sure if you can use it on balls but it’s safe for bikini line and you can use it on the rest of your body. If you get waxing done, it’ll pay for itself in 18 months.

Waxing is the best method of hair removal. An epilator is good too for inbetween appointments.

I have an epilator and I swear by it, wish I'd bought one years ago! However I am a wuss so I only use it on my legs and little chin hairs. Tried it on my armpits once and almost fainted, not a HOPE of it going anywhere near my puss.

I guess it depends on skin type and sensitivity for waxing and for IPL and laser, it will depend on the colour of your hair and your skin tone. Different people will have different results. Plus the salons have been closed for so long, it’s good to have an at home alternative.

If using a hair removal cream or IPL on sensitive areas, take an antihistamine and it counteracts any reaction better than pain killers.

Puss and armpit....try to do a bit every now and then and repeat, keep skin taught and it is not as painful, also before the fact, apply a bit if baby powder that would avoid skin lifting or getting caught when using the epilator

Discovering

One of the ladies on here give me a step by step guide once and until this point I had tried, creams, waxed, trimming etc

Soak in the bath for around 20 minutes then apply lashings of baby oil to the nether regions and shave, repeat with more baby oil and shave again for that silky smooth feeling and moisturise afterwards with yup, you guessed it baby oil.

I was very sceptical at first but it works a treat.

Dublin Wicklow

For those who haven’t trimmed or shaved previously the first time is always the trickiest. Trim the hair short, then use a new blade on wet / soapy skin cleaning the blade with every pass. You might have to do a few times. Hold the skin tight for a nice smooth finish. Moisturise for a problem free finish. I used veet a few years ago, never again. I followed the instructions but the result was a very painful burning sensation all over my ball bag for a few day’s.
