Fake verifications

Has anyone else been offered these the lads couple of days?

I say in the last week I've had 4 or so people saying "I' ll verify you if you verify me"

There seems to be an abundance of fake accounts now more than ever.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm guessing it's cause I've a new account but still, dodgy

But do they necessarily have to be fake people? or maybe just newbies who don't know the Via Crucis of getting verified on fab?

It could be because you are new or there could be something in your profile that ticks a box.

I've never been offered money, services or verifications and have never been asked for any of the above either.

I've never had any weird requests as some on here seem to get on a regular basis so I can only assume my age and filters put them off.

In regards to fake verifications though this is a common trend apparently as there are numerous forum posters who rotate their profiles and have dodgy verifications.

When I first joined and wasn't verified for maybe 6 or 7 months, I had well verified profiles here offering to verify me even though they had only spoken to me here and never met me. So yes it does happen.

Oh it certainly does happen, when I first joined I had numerous offers saying they would give me a verification and that was said in the first message,I promtly blocked. I did not want veris from someone I didn't know or hadn't met

Yeah, I got to chat to nice people with new profiles and no veris. Then when they ask me to verify them I just laugh and suggest them to check the site support etc. We all were new at some point learning the hard way.....

Just to add I did not accept the offers and waited till I had a meet and was verified the correct way.

Well, I'm not sure if they're fake. But If they're looking to exchange fake verifications it doesn't seem rather transparent, and gives off a false idea of who someone is

Yes, agree, the OP stated that clearly and it would be the case. I only speak from my personal experience when I denied to verify after a few chats, even when I thought that people were being genuine.

Verifications are something interesting on here. Can you truly rely on them to meet someone? Maybe that's a topic for another thread.

I remember there was a thread about putting video up of your voice but I couldnt because I wasnt verified and was a group i wanted to join but needed verification.

But dont want random verified, I was encouraged to join the video chats, but that's too much stranger danger for me. I joined during lockdown, not in rush to get verified

But saw lady asking for verification yesterday funnily enough, just ignored it

Cant say I have tbh I dont have any yet but there is still time. I'd only want ones from real people off the site and not someone just looking to snoop on this site seems to be a lot of fake accounts popping up.

I never read one in my life. I like to make me own mind up on people chatting to them privately etc.

I was offered a fake verification several times when I was new. Report and block.

Follow the trail of breadcrumbs re verifications. My advice is meet through the socials mainly or those verified at other socials.

same still applies. bottom line is make your own mind up on somebody. waste of time read veris. nobody is going to display a negative veri.

They can be very telling... the frequency... the last one... who they are from.. who the people who left them have also met etc.....

No fool proof but absolutely a tool that can be used

again, would make no difference to me how long it is since a person met or who they have met before me. just because they met a certain individual, who I might not like for eg doesnt mean I won't meet them. were here for fun, not seriousness. I couldn't care less what they do with another person.

absolutely. im just giving my opinion. I find it funny that a person would judge negativitly on a person because of who they met unless its a person of serious dissent.

We've had loads of offers, so our policy is that we don't give vers and don't want vers even from meets. The vers system was a good idea but corrupted now. We'll judge anyone on how they message us and rely on our own experience.

On my last profile here I was verified by someone I'd never even met or spoken to before. Just logged in and there was this random verification. I've heard from others who had the same thing happen.

You really can't put much weight on verifications. There's all sorts of things going on as stated above.

I’ve verified fabbers I havnt met. Very few. but they’ve been people I’ve cammed with and chatted with loads, texting them frequently. IMO a lot more reliable than meeting someone for 15minute coffee. It’s called a cam-veri?

On a previous profile I attended a social gathering with about 20 other fabbers and afterwards everyone verified each other.

I received a verification from another man which I wasn't too happy about for a number of reasons.

Firstly because even if I hid the veri it still showed in the summary as verified by a man.

Secondly because this man wasn't even at the event. No one in the group had any idea who he was and didn't recognise his profile. He had never been in the chat group either but verified a number of others as well as me.

Thirdly because of the content of the verification which stated that I was an amazingly sexy lady and even better in the flesh than he imagined from our regular chats and he looked forward to meeting me again and that guys should treat me with respect.

FFS even the beard didn't put him off.

Wow but not too surprised as it's an easy cheat because at the bigger socials, verifications are handed out like smarties.

Only verify those that you want to that you can clearly remember. Verifications are needed for socials and safety so it's up to us all to be vigilant and careful.

Actually am laughing my head off now at this “camaraderie”..

It reminds me of that joke, the one where the guy goes to confession and tells the priest he’s been having extra-marital sex and the priest is asking him “was it Mary? Was it Margaret?” Then he comes out of the church and says to his friend “I got 3 our fathers and 2 good leads”.

Surely sharing that kind of information, as “nice” as it seems, is entirely counter-productive

OP, it doesn't mean they are fake.

Im only photo-verfied and declined a few times to be webcam verified by people from the chatroom we are regularly meeting and chatting.

I don't need the green circle.

Im not fake for sure.

I do not plan to meet new people. Not now.

Maybe I'll decide it in the summer.

I don't look at the verifications. Its enough to me we can see each other on the webcams and we know who we are

I have had a few requests to verify newbies but explained them that I cannot. Other members in the chatroom verified them. And its fair to ask for verification (specially for single men and couples). I do not see any issues.
