"Don't shit where you eat" I'd tend to go with this but more so with someone to build a relationship with. Met an ex at College in the same class/course and it was awful by the end, always rowing. She was good people but we just weren't suited at all. Talking to someone on Fab and found out we worked in the same building albeit in different areas of the building so maybe that helped? We lost touch but pretty sure we'd pick up where we left off if we saw each other again, ha. That being said, that COULD have ended badly too but was just lucky I suppose?

"Having a work fuck buddy makes it so much easier to go in, how popular is it? “Never dip your wick in the company ink.” Great advice given to me at the start of a career in hotel management. Not that I followed it to the letter, but hey life is like that...." and this is why I stopped going on staff nights out as a manager, few drinks in and the young waiter is looking awfully tempting and the fiesty chef is eyeballing you across the room. Nope quick 1 hour appearance and slip away before it turns into a mass orgy. Hotel staff nights out are anything goes. work hard, play harder. Oh to be 20 again...
