Chatting fatigue

A site based primarily around physical meets that is now restricted to chatting only, i am guessing, will or has lead to some chatting fatigue...

I've looked at my last handful of sent messages which shows how many mails back and forth with the same person in each message and is:

3, 81, 3, 2, 38, 5...

So a mixed bag...

Do people find it more difficult to keep conversations going when everyone knows that it will still be a couple of months away from even meeting up for coffee with someone or still business as usual conversation wise?

So straw poll based on a few months ago versus current lockdown period:

A. You find that you are chatting with a greater number of people at same time but conversations fizzle out quicker

Or

B. You find that you are chatting to reduced number of people at the same time but conversations last longer..

C. No different to before..

I'm not the endless chatting type anyways. I'm currently not chatting with anyone really aside from people I actually know and have banter with. And the amount of times lately I've been called a time waster by men because I won't meet/chat to them is laughable.

I have my filters tight anyhow so I don't get a lot of messages so I'm definitely not chatting to more than I was at any other stage that I have been on here .

But yes sometimes keeping chats going can be hard when there is no end in sight really especially when real life gets busy as well with work etc. They tend to fizzle out after a while .

It's why I'm not really doing any new chats at present it seems a bit pointless so I'm mostly here for the forum's and friends at the moment if I'm honest .

I'm with Bo my filters are tight. Mainly using forums and chatting to friends that I've met or chatted to before lockdown.

Been a few conversations but they have fizzled out and once a guy finds out you not into phone sex or setting or sending videos they move on

Never one for lots of messaging as you say they fizzle out anyway

Last week actually spoke to someone for an hour which was pretty amazing and genuinely a great morale booster

Nothing had changed...(still twats asking to meet through this pandemic...)so I upped the age on my preference and it seems to have filtered the amount of people asking to meet...(take that as you may..!) Now I'm enjoying chatting and because of this I'm ready to bolt out once this is all over!!

Very hard to keep interest up via chats. Even when the interest is UP. Theres a long way to go...

Pretty much sticking to the forum unless I get messaged or someone really nice stands out.

Just keeping it light and breezy and having a laugh.

So far it does seem similar across alot of people that message fatigue has set in so maybe the Forums are really the way to go over the short to medium term it seems.

** to clarify the purpose of this thread is for research purposes only and not a way to shame any unfortunate person who was stuck chatting to me recently

I don't send first contact messages and haven't done for over a year.

I rarely if ever look at anything in fab apart from the forums and maybe local updates.

If I get 2 messages in a week that's a busy week as most weeks I don't get any at all and I'm content with that level of interaction.

Therefore chat fatigue doesn't really come into the equation.

Yes that's the way I am if my yellow box lights up its usually a friend or a guy asking to sort out his sunday morn horn I politely decline of course

Yeah, I've been finding it hard to motivate myself to even just log in here and have a bit of chat to be honest.

I love the chats and craic in messages with a small few people here. The mood has just gone in sync with the ongoing lockdown after lockdown.

I'm sure things will get back to being great as restrictions lift. For the moment though I can totally understand chats fizzing out. It's up to us to pick it all back up when the time is right

that's a total disgrace and always has been. some churches are massive and they allow 10. I know alot of funerals of late, people go to the graveyard to pay their respects.

Yes that's the maddening part.. People can spread out on bigger churches. It's coming down to each church at the time. Some are allowing the immediate family in to mass.
