Two cars in a local garage last Tuesday getting new tyres, one with a Meath reg and the other Monaghan.

Southern reg cars in most carparks in the Mournes almost every day.

depends what he's doing. As I have said many times before, a person breaking 5k to walk a scenic area for eg is doing f all to anybody. You're in a big wide open area. It's different if your doing it to attend a huge gathering. People have to start using a bit of savy upstairs. Lockdown rules in ways will be broken with very little harm and if this l5 charade continues into the good weather, you'll have alot more broken.

The problem obviously isn't the wide open spaces. It's the 100+ cars that won't fit in a carpark made for 20 so they park on narrow roads and farm equipment can't get passed.

It's the fact that they are traveling an hour or more in groups of 5 or 6 in the same car and are all from different households.

It's the fact they are sitting on top of each other as they have their picnics.

It's the fact that lockdown has brought out the armchair adventurers who don't even have so much as a pair of walking boots. They wouldn't walk to Lidl but they think they can conquer a mountain and then have to call mountain rescue when they slip in their Nike trainers.

It's the fact that people deliberately but themselves at risk to get Instagram pics in the snow and then had to ring the police because they were unable to walk downhill in slippery conditions.

It's the fact that people are getting lost and posting pics on Facebook to ask where they are and how they get back to the carpark.

It's got nothing to do with being in wide open spaces. It's that everyone and their granny decides that they all have to be in the same wide open space at the same time and to hell with the consequences.

not everyone who goes to wide open spaces is putting people at risk. there is tonnes and tonnes of room on beaches for eg. not every scenic area is climbing a mountain where search and rescue has to come out in bad weather. not everyone whose going are groups of people in one car (most just a family living togethet) and also if you think at this stage, families who live in the one area are not seing one another, you're totally deluded. people are breaking "rules" all the time since March of last year but if this continues into the good weather, summer months, rules will go out the window for most and I don't just mean the 5k restrictions.

I agree with you about not every scenic area involving mountains or mountain areas but that doesn't take away from every forest park and beach carpark overflowing and cars being clamped and roads having to be closed because of the amount of illegally abandoned cars as "families" go for a picnic.

That's not to mention the car cruise planned for the North coast today where hundreds of cars and drivers and spectators are expected.

Or the wishes of the good people of Portrush and Portstewart who are complaining about the number of people driving 100+ miles to stay in their holiday homes.

You work on facts and these are all facts.

I agree there has to be some sort of control. But again I think a level of personal responsibility has to be allowed.

no point anybody saying anything about that though as the simple matter is, you will never get everybody doing the one thing, no matter what. also at this stage more and more will break "rules" as the struggle/boredom is getting far greater.

As your from a cosmic state somewhere in space, you dont believe in a pandemic then why are you so annoyed about not getting the vaccine. Sounds like your contradicting yourself. Us mere mortals believe in reality.
