"I wonder is their time in the sun coming to an end Serious backlash against them in The UK for them having "essential" work in Dubai during the pandemic Also do they expect to "work " at it forever " Most of the properly successful ones are pretty great entrepreneurs to be fair and I'm sure someone thats tuned in enough making a living off being an influencer is probably already looking at other revenue streams.... These aren't people that went on big brother and sell their gender reveal party pictures . They are people to recognised how modern marketing was changing and build a brand around that. I'd be more worried if I was working in a small old fashioned marketing company tbh.... Obviously there are loads jumping on the trend but that happens with all new business types

"Stop following the majority of them as all you see is their highlight real , not real life " 100% this, social media is not real

"I wonder is their time in the sun coming to an end Serious backlash against them in The UK for them having "essential" work in Dubai during the pandemic Also do they expect to "work " at it forever " Influencer is not a job. I find the whole thing mind boggling. If you took a penneys mannequin flew it around the world , took photos of it in free gear from whatever brand. And wrote stupid hashtags. Essentially the same thing.

" I agree with you ...can you imagine in a few years having a cv with influencer as your last 3 years of a job description I think the word freeloader is interchangeable with some of them...not all I've looked up a bit online since earlier just to understand it a bit more

In order to make it, it must be a non stop full time job with an insanely strict exercise regime and diet so your body is flawless. On social media at all times networking, making connections, following the current trends, reviewing makeup etc from your sponsors. You're basically a buisness person, makeup artist, photographer, journalist, fitness guru, and whatever other occupations I'm not contemplating. It sounds exhausting.

"Far from entrepreneurs, they do absolutely nothing themselves other than take photos and do exactly what the ‘brands’ tell them. Notions " Well the have monetised if for their own benefit. There are loads if them who have launched their own brands from it. Dunno that seem pretty entrepreneur like to me

I dont really follow people online but I can recognise and respect people showing drive and ambition and making a success of themselves " Indeed, especially given that people such as Christiano Ronaldo, Beyoncé, Lionel Messi, Huda Kattan & Taylor Swift are amongst the world's top influencers. Like them or loathe them but I think we can all agree that they are far from just social media famous wannabes
