ni covid fines

we have bought a motorhome and as you can imagine cant wait to get it on the road proper i mean more than 10 miles.are the police fining people for going beyond are just sending you home.just curious.

They are definitely finding my daughter got 100 euro fine in post last week for being out side her area

You're very lucky you are allowed to travel 10 miles from your home.. In the Republic its 5km which is just over 3 miles.. Ruciculous really.. You should be allowed to travel anywhere you want as long as you keep to yourself or your bubble..

I’ve not heard of anyone getting fined £100 in NI yet. I didn’t think it was law, surely it’s just guidelines?

Maybe ask those parking in almost every carpark in the Mourne Mountains every week who have driven a couple of hours to get there. Quite a few of them have been issued with on the spot fines.

Same here with the roads full up the dublin mountains every sunday afternoon

The cars get clamped also which pisses off people the most

I know of a few friends in the car scene that just about got away with running a car meet at Christmas time. And another friend got a caution for coming up to the port on a Sunday afternoon with his girlfriend

There is no distance limit in Northern Ireland but your reason for travel must be essential no matter the distance. Holidaying is unlikely to fall under essential.
