Because that's the age of the people they want to meet up to. Or some may have them set just to help the amount of messages they get also.

That's the main reason for mine if I see someone outside my age filters especially my upper ones that I like then I will make first contact with them.

You should concentrate on those whose filters you do fall within and not the others.

I’ve got 8 months of being in the range left.... better get busy ....

Don’t know... guess the field just feels that over 45 is too old. Gotta be in that perfect “Goldilocks” zone.... not too young, not too old, but just right.
