Just bought a nice Nikon D90 camera (what they call "new old stock") looks like I'll need a degree in astro physics to work it though, anyone else into photography?

Yup, have spent thousands on equipment over the years, Canon for me, but Nikon has the edge now, use auto and you won't go far wrong, and learn as you go, it's easy, lots of online tutorials all free.

yeah am a canon man myself though

its not that difficult to use, stick to AV mode or full auto

if in AV, just make sure to scroll the exposure wheel till the bar is in the middle
