Worst internet provider

So just off the phone from what i can only describe as the worst internet provider in Ireland.

Been fighting with them since mid December over a simple home move that ended up with them charging me for two months that i wasn't even connected.

Have since had to get a different company in to connect me and they had it done in three days back in January so i could home school.

Sorry i had to rant about it i was driven to insanity because of them,carry on with your day,never mind the crazy woman sitting in the corner

Eir are beyond useless...

I once was on hold over an hour waiting , luckily I had called up to cancel their service so woukd have stayed on all night if I had to...

Shocking service all round...

Awh I hearya..deplorable shower..I brought one to small claims because I had a mate working in courts n no skin off my nose... got my money back n full n a permanent mention in court logs of which they spent 6k trying to remove...but again my mate working there wouldnt let it happen.. only way.. problem is none of them are irish owned anymore... I went n got gomo mobile sim n modem for 12.99 per month.. does all that's needed for schooling n indeed all tv via firestick.. most people would get away with 4g mobile for their needs.. so if you have good 4g in your area it's a easy fix these days n no bloody subscription.. .. ya gotta fight..

Vodafone rang me last week to offer a broadband service

I just know Eir would make a balls up if i left

Two right they would make a balls up,they charged me for two months i wasnt connected then when i rang today i was told oh we thought the home move team had connected you,i said said thats crap if they connected me i wouldnt be ringing nearly every day since mid December

actually no... if Vodafone offer you the service n you know it's good...they actually handle Eir switch off transfer... just cancel your D/D in bank.

More than likely vodafone broadband fibre broadband is provided by EIR

I had to contact eir through twitter to cancel with them..i cancelled the direct debit and they cut me off.. all through messages.. never spoke to anyone as i was on hold forever... brutal broadband and customer service

I'm with eir. No problem with broadband, speed excellent. Customer care shit but like them all. Fortunately I very seldom have to ring customer care.

I've been with Eir for a few years without issue (touch wood) had to ring for a replacement modem and to threaten them with cancellation if they didn't stop throttling the speeds but nothing else thankfully.

I came across this poor chaps experience a couple of years ago.

I had been in Meteor for years, then switched to Tesco and go back, and since Eir owns that company I am unable to even change my plan! What the hell?!

Any advise how to get to my account? I have checked my top ups and it looks like within 30 days Ive topped up twice? Yeah, I was super busy and did not notice it but what's going on?!

I rang them the other day to quit, started to prepare the dinner, made the dinner, ate and cleaned after and they still didn’t answer the phone....hung in there until they answered and then quit....my contract ends in a month and they begged me to stay....best feeling ever was to say goodbye to them!

Oh no i never had an issue with eir broadband,i was with them for 3 and a half years and evetything was fine until i requested a home move thats when the issues arose. I have been ringing them since mid December and got absolutely no where with them any contact was always from my end even though they kept saying somebody would be in contact in a day or two. Then they charged me for two months i wasn't even conected and yesterday they said oh i thought the home move team had been to your house,i just said you know they haven't because they have a log of people they have been to. So i had to cancel everything because they still were not willing to even admit they were in the wrong for taking my money and not setting up the home move. I had to get another company in to do it so i could home school.

Extremely bad customer service because then yesterday when he said about the home move team he added in oh well they would should have arrived to install they couldnt anyway because they are not allowed inside your home under goverment guidelines,my reply was so then your company is lying to all its customers because the other company i got in had to come into the house because under goverment guidelines internet installation is deemed essential for home schooling and working from home. I also said i am going with the tv package with them also which to date has not been installed because it is not deemed essential which is perfectly fine tv doesn't bother me i am only been charged for internet until such a time that they can install the tv

I use sky Q for television service

Put a reminder in your phone for a date a month before your contract is due to expire

Ring them and tell them you're cancelling to give them the required 30 day notice

You'll get it half price for the next 6 months if you stay

GoMo are owned by of EIR. I use GoMo for mobile and have no issues. The problem with EIR is customer support.

You can do it every 6 months....my full price for tv only is 120 a month

I pay that for 6 mths of the year and 60 odd for the other 6 months

Reading the op I guessed Eir and I would say from experience they are beyond useless.

I got rid of them or rather made them get rid of me both to get back at them and make for less paperwork and codology.

How did you manage that?

Not sure if you can get it everywhere but swapped to Digiweb, not the cheapest but gave me a top router and they have great customer service (they even handled the swap from Eir who I couldn’t get on the phone ~aren’t Eir a phone company too?)

I was told by an eir customer service rep , well he was actually a level above that but anyway, he told me that the person you get on the phone that takes your call logs the complaint, if you are lucky enough to get through and they actually log it. Either way they have no authority from management to do ANYTHING for you. So essentially you are just ringing to complain they promise to fix it but have no power to do a thing. Not even this guy who did have authority could. Still had to send of for another sign off in Cork which didn't happen. Long story short. Just have to keep going and going because the people answering can't do a thing. Emails and getting a call from a top supervisor might get you half way there. Awful service.

There is a simple solution to it all and that is to send email stating you deem them to have not held service to contract and require full refund.. then cancel your direct debit.. you have proof of email sent in writing and they will not battle the customer service as most are 3rd party.. I have had the annoyance of doing this twice in past year.. three + eir.. Gomo is ran by eir.. it's so cheap because there is no customer services.. so why pay for something that you honestly know your not going to get.. problem with this country we are too soft and they use that to their advantage.. I've 20-28mbps on gomo which works all my firestick 4k apps inc full s*y package and netflix etc..

Maybe I'm just to tight to spend more than 13yoyo per month for all.. but why should I...
