Anything positive that will stay after we get back to normal

somewhere

Just for this assume that we'll eventually get back to normal

What changes have been forced on us that are actually useful going forward in either your personal or work life

Work wise for me its incredible that customers now seem to accept phone calls and emails to make a sale instead of having to drive for a face to face meeting

Which makes a huge and welcome difference

North West, Outer Letterkenny area

I have become very settled, it took time a loooong time that started just pre covid, but I've become very content with what I have or don't have in my life. Hopefully the working virtually will become a thing on a permanent basis for those who want it. Lot of positives out of a difficult time for a lot of people.

on the hill NordWest of

I hope we can keep the social distancing in the shops. Nobody breathing down my neck at the check out and no busybody behind me unloading their trolley before I've finished mine, makes all the difference to my shopping experience.

Hygiene for sure.

Space at the tills 100 %

Although the virtual meeting is a headwreck and certainly one that can fit some occasional needs, but the face to face transaction is a must I believe. I’m not talking Fab life here BTW.

Possibly a greater appreciation of local travel.... and when trips are taken it’s a real treat for international travel. We’ve taken that for granted.

Wfh etiquette in general.

Before, I felt like some employers would expect you to be on your death bed before you could call in sick. Now, any sort of symptom and they want you to stay at home so you dont spread it around the office.

Also Skype meetings are amazing.

I read a story in a paper at the start about how a woman in a wheelchair found it hard to get work as the companies wouldn't let her work from home..had to be in an office environment with everyone else

Now all the companies that told her that are closed with everyone working from home

Me working a four day week!

Strangers wanting to shake hands and kiss you will now hopefully be recognised as one of the main ways of transmitting contagious diseases.

Medical staff will have a renewed regard for hygiene protocols and their responsibility to take care not to be a vector for infection between patients.

People will stay at home from work if they have an infectious condition.

I hadnt thought about that! So many jobs are converted to fully wfh. It must have opened so many doors for people with disabilities!

The hug’n’kiss meet.... I hated that when working and meeting colleagues... a kiss is a totally unnecessary greeting, unless you are going to be sharing a lot more than that together.

The Japanese bow.... bring that into our world. I’m ready for distanced introductions.

One change we have yet to see, is the death of paper money/ raising the tap amount on your card to €30.

Amount of time wasted at the bar. "What does it come too? Give me a second till I emoty my wallet on the bar and count out my cash.. and then wait for my change"

And then when someone does pay with card, the barman has to go off and find the "only" card machine in the pub.

Now, someone orders a drink, tap your card or phone and off you pop.

Can't remember the last time I paid cash for anything and i think there's notes in my wallet since last March

A new found respect for nature. We as a species strut around this planet like we own it.. Like we are untouchable with our technology and self importance. Then along cones nature and slaps us down... 1 - 0 to nature

I used to say "is it ok if I tap?" At the till.

The other day I was using up cash that I had lying around and I was like "is it ok if I use cash?"

We have done a complete 180.

Instead of 1-0 implying that we are separate to it and in contest with nature I think we should consider nature an incomplete circle of which we have obsconded .make c o

I think those that have been sticking by the rules would probably find it strange going back to normal a hug for the 1st time in ages is gunna feel like the greatest feeling

Although I'd say alot of people will still be in social distancing mode

Hand hygiene! Sanitizing stations going into shops will stay. Not everyone will continue to use them but even if just 20% keep up the habit it will make a huge difference to infection rates in general. They're also teaching proper hand washing technique in preschools which should help it become second nature to future generations. My 5 yr old is better at washing her hands then alot of adults

this and for me i have got into studying a little which is really good, my mind has slowed down enough to read and write again. Sitting with myself more is good to for reflection on the way my life was and changes that must be made within myself.
