Divorce party

Has anyone held a divorce party or would it be a good idea? When places open up of course and people can travel.

I was at one years ago. A lot of fun. Was not a place to be a man though

Each to their own. Parties aren't my thing, also, having children with my ex, it would have seemed like rubbing their noses in it.

Yeah, that's the plan. We're both up for it but we reckon some friends might find it awkward being there. We've missed so many celebrations this last year so it'll be kinda like a final blow out.

Then noooo, I definitely couldn’t do that....

I’d have to have solicitors, barristers and judges present I’d say....

But fair play to you both, and to anyone else who could manage to be able to do something like that....

I went to one this time last year actually. It was great fun. Especially cos I set them up in the first place. Aam so impressed that they made such an effort to be amicable and with two kids, it’s made everything easier. He actually moved back in to a granny flat over lockdown so they could share childcare.

I got divorced in the morning and by the afternoon we were in east Cork for three days,had a nice relaxing time and got a few new cheeky photos

It does make things so much easier for everybody. It hasn't being plain sailing all the time but got to do what's best for the kids. Also we're dealing with the divorce by ourselves without solicitors so save a bit of money that way.

Sorry should of been more clearer I went with my partner not the ex husband

We were friends with benefits back then but now a couple met on fab

Suppose the context of the party depends. Some divorce celebrations are about congratulations you are finally free from that witch let's celebrate and laugh at about it vs perhaps more of a your single again embrace it the world is your oyster type celebration. I like divorce parties. Ive been to one.

I was at a breakup party, with a couple.

It was in Cali, friends were invited, then when people left, a couple of swingers and myself stayed on, to have fun and consumate the amicable breakup.
